Dark Rum

While it may look like Goslings Black Seal Rum is packaged in black glass, the bottle is actually clear. This is a rich and extremely dark rum that is a rich, deep amber color when poured. While pleasantly aromatic, Black Seal really distinguishes itself on the palate. Full-bodied and highly textured, it has delightfully full rummy flavors of vanilla, molasses, caramel and toast. A bit darker in the nose, more treacle and molasses but leavened with bright notes of vanilla parfait, leather, toffee and dark spices, earth. Similar in taste to the Anejo, it's a bit richer and darker in tone and taste. Like the top of a creme brulee that's spent a bit more time under the torch letting the sugars caramelize fully (but not burning it).
