This Distillery Collection No. 2 Barbet Rum was first introduced in fall 2017 as one of two limited edition rums from Diplomático. This collection is named for the various types of stills used by the brand to produce its rums. The Barbet column still is a continuous still first brought to the distillery from France in 1959. This rum matured in American oak barrels which previously held bourbon and whisky. Each bottle is numbered with the date of distillation listed.

Diplomático Blanco is a super premium rum, designed and formulated carefully to achieve an extraordinary body, balance and softness. Only aged rums have been used in the formula, as in Venezuela by law the youngest component must have been aged in white oak barrels for at least 2 years. In Diplomático Blanco´s blend the rums used are aged up to 6 years old. To achieve its balanced and special body, the rum master blender combined light and heavy rums distilled in copper potstills. Finally, the rum is carefully filtered and treated with charcoal to achieve its brightness and transparency; additionally this treatment gives it an incomparable softness. Diplomatico Blanco has already won the coveted title of 'Rum Master' in the White Rums category at the Drinks Business Spirits Masters awards 2009.

Batch Kettle Rum was first introduced in fall 2017 as one of two limited edition rums in the Distillery Collection from Diplomático. This collection is named for the various types of stills used by the brand to produce its rums. The Batch Kettle is a semi-continuous still first brought to the distillery from Canada in 1959. It previously made whisky. This rum matured in American oak barrels. Each bottle is numbered with the date of distillation listed. This would be a good "sipping rum."

The Claro is a molasses-based rum that is created by blending rums that have been aged for an average of three years in used American oak casks. The rum is blended and then bottled at 40% abv. Light on the palate in the entry, the first thing you taste is sugar – almost cotton candy-like. The entry very quickly dissipates and the astringency from the nose finds its away across your tongue and down your throat very quickly. This rum is not a sipper. Once you get past the initial shock of ethanol and go back for a second or third sip, you start finding very pleasant notes of toasted coconut, banana, and raw cane. There is a sweetness throughout the tasting experience that makes a valiant effort to combat the ethanol burn, but ultimately loses out.
