Satsuma Hozan is the shochu that made Nishi Shuzo famous throughout Japan. This luscious white koji shochu is approachable, yet complex. it hits you first in the nose with a faintly roasted sweet potato aroma. Not as pronounced as some other roast-evoking shochus, but more subtle and discrete. The white koji and atmospheric distillation combine to give Satsuma Hozan a buttery mouthfeel while providing floral, aromatic flavors that are slightly sweet with the roasted flavor appearing in the middle of the sip. An herbal, earthy finish leaves you with a broad flavor spectrum from this shochu, which has much more complexity than other white koji imo shochus.

Our distillery handcrafts Nankai Shochu using modern vacuum-distillation techniques, making it exceptionally smooth on the rocks and great for food pairing. It's also extremely versatile as a base spirit for cocktails, and it makes a great Moscow Mule or Soda Highball. Our fans not only love Nankai Shochu for its clean, vibrant, and sweet flavor and aroma, but also because it's low calorie and carb-free, making it keto-friendly and an excellent replacement for your vodka-based cocktails.

Tombo-Shochu-Soju
Ages ago, Japan was called Akitsushima, "Land of Dragonflies" and Samurai armor was often adored with dragonflies to symbolize strength. It is from this history and lore that Tombo rises. An authentic Honkaku Shochu, Tombo is single pot distilled from North American barley and white koji. Drawn from the head and body of the distillation process and aged six months in stainless steel tanks, Tombo retains full flavor yet mellow and easy to sip. Lush grain aroma followed by hints of pear and citrus flavors accented by tropical spice. The finish is clean and long with notes of spice, minerals, and green olive. Enjoy on the rocks, with seltzer or soda and mixed in cocktails.

A highly prized Imo Shochu aged in Sherry Barrels and made with premium sweet potatoes and white koji. Tenshi no Yuwaku has a thick and creamy texture, and a sophisticated and elegant aroma. Shares brandy and sherry characteristics, while retaining all the richness of a sweet potato genshu. The name Tenshi no Yuwaku (Angel's Temptation) is a reference to the "Angel's Share" (the quantity of barrel stored wine or whisky that evaporates during aging, which is said to be taken by Angels).

It is said that the very first seedlings of green tea in Japan were planted by the Zen Buddhist monk Myoan Eisai on a mountain in Saga Prefecture more than 800 years ago. This heritage is a great source of pride for the local farmers in the nearby town of Ureshino, which is well known for producing some of the most sought after sencha in all Japan. The legacy also serves as our inspiration for this wonderfully rich and fragrant Green Tea shochu. Hand crafted in the traditional way, the shochu is single distilled from a mash of local harvests; two-rowed barley, black koji rice, and freshly picked, then steamed, Ureshino green tea leaves. At 70 proof it is more concentrated like shochus of old to enhance the aroma, complexities, body and finish. Rich, bold, fragrant and delicious.
