Goodwood Louisville Lager

Goodwood-Louisville-Lager
Goodwood Louisville Lager is the first and only beer brewed with 100% Kentucky-grown grains. And, in a tip of the cap to our Slugger-making neighbors downtown, white ash – common in baseball bats – is used to enhance brewing. This results in a light-bodied, perfectly balanced lager with a sweet finish delivered by those Kentucky grains.

An India Pale Ale that has hops taking the show. Just like the West Sixth IPA, it’s brewed with Columbus, Citra and Centennial hops. This session beer has a big nose of earthy spice with compliments of citrus. Following through with lots of pleasant hop flavor, this beer maintains drinkability while being packed with everything we love about our IPA.

In the Midwest, there are certain things you can count on. Like hard work, hot summers, and the love a father feels for his family. We’re serious about these things here. That’s why our dad was never too busy to put down his hammer, sit with us on a red dusk night, and share a story or two. And we loved those times. The thing was, dad wore the years of patina on his face and knew it was just part of his job. So in honor of those dads, we call this deep tropical stout Dead Blow, to remind ourselves that hardness and goodness sometimes go together. Dead Blow is a Tropical version of the Foreign Extra Stout. Eighty pounds of macerated dates made its way into this brew, partnered with a Dry English Ale yeast to provide a vibrant fruity/tropical aroma with a slight amount of fruity esters. The Dry English ale yeast helps this beer attenuate lower, however leaving a residual sweetness on the finish as well as increase the fruity characteristic received from the Dates. Dead Blow is a dry, roasty, fruity, full bodied, smooth stout, that is lighter on bitterness.

This Belgian table bier is a traditional entry into the Session category. It is meant to be consumed with food but also stands well on its own. When you need to drink the whole meal and want something with plenty of flavor but don’t want to get shit-twisted from the alcohol, this is a great choice. Look for a smooth malty body with hints of biscuit and rye. The hops are subdued and mostlypresent as a bittering agent. The yeast plays a prominent role increating bready and lightly fruity notes.

Originally brewed as a conceptualization from our friends at the Nachbar....This historical anomaly is one of the only styles of beer indigenous to the USA and it was originally brewed right here in the Bluegrass! Much like our more beloved and covet cousin sour mash bourbon, this ale is brewed in the manner of ’souring the mash’. First we start with a blend of grains similar to your favorite spirit, barley, rye, and corn and we start the sour mash. In that process, we are able to achieve a deliciously complex tart flavor that plays with the spiciness of rye, while finishing with a dry crispness from the corn. Moderately hopped to balance the sweetness of this Kentucky Common, one will get notes of dry fruit, sweet tarts, and hints of tannin from a very small amount of barrel aged character.

Braxton Storm Golden Cream Ale

Braxton-Storm-Golden-Cream-Ale
The storm rolled in, and we rushed into our garage, family and neighbors alike, chased by the coal-black clouds slinging lightening bolts like grinder sparks. Seemed like whatever the day brought, we never strayed far from that garage. It was the hub of our early lives, a haven, the place we learned how to sharpen a mower blade, how to tell the truth, how to help your neighbor. We also learned how to brew beer here. In fact, the Storm you’re holding was first brewed in our garage, during the relentless backlash of Hurricane Sandy. We take immense pride in offering you a cold sip of this golden cream ale, a dream that started in a small garage, and like a storm, grows with unrelenting power. A traditional American lawnmower beer, this golden cream ale features a medium body with a creamy palate feel. The aroma is a balance between subtle corn and malt-like notes with a very slight earthy and spicy hop presence. Pale straw in color with brilliant lightning-like clarity, Storm makes a great session beer being low in alcohol and bitterness, but complete with flavor. However, unlike the typical cream ale, no DMS or harsh corn like aroma is present.

Originally brewed in Munich, this classic dark lager has become quite popular throughout Germany. We use a large amount of Munich malts in this lager to provide a bread-like taste with a hint of caramel, which is common of this particular style of beer. We also use one of Germany's finest noble hops from the Hallertauer region to make this beer as authentic as possible. The rich and sweet aromas balanced with its deep brown color will be sure to give your senses an enjoyable overall impression.

This fourth beer offered year round in cans is a celebration of malt. Dark and rich with overtones of coffee and dark chocolate, it's chewy and yet smooth at the same time. Brewed at almost imperial porter strength, we add over 60 pounds of the best cacao nibs in each 40 barrel batch.

West-Sixth-Cerveza
In the style of a Mexican Lager, West Sixth Cerveza is crisp with a pleasant cracker like malt character with notes of corn and a low amount of hops to create a quenching and sessionable lager. Crack a West Sixth Cerveza or add a slice of lime to a freshly poured pint- this brew is satisfying and approachable to all!
Against The Grain 35K Milk Stout

Against-The-Grain-35K-Milk-Stout
Dark roasted malt and bittersweet cocoa and coffee flavor and aroma burst from this pitch black milk stout. The full body and sweetness are derived from the addition of lactose (aka milk sugar) which is not fermentable by beer yeast. A healthy dose of Nugget and Crystal hops provides a counterpoint to this ale’s rich and complex maltiness.

What's the first thing you need to do when you start a brewery? Develop your logo, of course. With any potentially decent brewery, your logo must be a skull, it has to be a skull, you'll be laughed out of the room if you don't have a skull. So we went hunting in the area where all the great skulls have come from and were shit out of luck. By those fateful dumpsters all we found was this deformed neanderthal type deal, or maybe it's from an ape, and a big ol' pile of face. To celebrate our lack of success in finding a really cool skull, we are embracing another required cliché by brewing this American IPA. A modicum of simple malts provide the mediocre backbone to the mountain of various hops that are utilized and rotated throughout the brewing process. Look for dank overtones supported by various citrus and heirloom fruits. It's the straight forward fuckin' IPA that you always wanted from us. You lucky bastard.

Kentucky-Peach-Barrel-Wheat
Kentucky Peach Barrel Wheat Ale is a light, crisp ale perfect for lazy, sun-drenched summer days. Images of your real (or fanciful) old Kentucky home in bourbon country are conjured up with every sip, thanks to the brew’s six-week aging period in fresh Kentucky bourbon barrels. The barrel-aging process balances hints of caramel and vanilla and subtle cereal notes with the juiciness of a fresh ripe peach, creating a golden color. Enjoy this light-bodied, refreshing offering before the bright rays of summer fade into fall.

Taking awesome and doubling it can only be double awesome. It’s math. This is essentially the 35K recipe doubled. Double roasty, double chocolatey, double creamy, double delicious. Then we decided to make it 2.5X awesome by aging it in Angel’s Envy barrels for a really, really long time. The bourbon and oak flavors perfectly compliment the massive flavors in the double mega imperial milk stout. You don’t swim in this beer, it swims in you!
