Pale straw in colour, the 2012 Y Series Viognier has aromas of honeysuckle, candied ginger and glacé pineapple that typify this exotic variety. The palate is rich in texture and body thanks to wild yeast fermentation and ageing on lees, yet retains a refreshing quality that make it a pleasure to drink. Flavours to be found on the palate include fresh pineapple and lychee.

Aromas: Wonderful aromas reminiscent of stone fruits, intense peach, apricot, apple, honeysuckle and jasmine blossom. Tasting Notes: Voluptuous, rich mouth-feel of tropical fruits. Our Viognier is a rich, velvety white wine with notes of peach, pear, and apricot. The majority of fruit comes from our River Junction Vineyard and averages 26 Brix at harvest. The juice is cold fermented in stainless steel to retain the unique fruit characteristics of Viognier.

This is a pleasantly quaffable Viognier, with restrained apricot and melon aromas and flavors. It’s medium bodied, without much texture, but a clean, refreshing finish.

This vineyard block we source from, known as Wedding Hill, is a unique site; the vines are terraced in a concentric circle around a small hill on the famed Saralee’s Vineyard in Russian River Valley, which offers various exposures that give complex aromatics to the fruit. While characteristically a floral wine, this release sings of jasmine, honeysuckle, and orange blossom. Complimenting the initial burst of floral aromas are notes of white nectarine, honey, and a touch of Bartlett pear. While lively and bright on the palate, the wine has a nice weight that coats the palate and lingers like a warm ray of sunshine.
