The grapes for this wine were hand harvested from our home ranch, Redwood Valley Vineyards, early in the morning of September 18, 2019. The cold fruit was destemmed and immediately transferred to our tank press. The juice was fermented cold at 50-55F to produce maximum esters (fruity aromas) and delicate flavors. This process takes about three weeks. The wine was then cold aged in stainless steel at 40F for 90 days to retain freshness and fruit character. Deep straw in color with aromas of lemon curd and fresh cut melon. Crisp nectarine, honeysuckle and wet stone flavors mingle with subtle mineral notes. This lovely wine leaves your palate feeling bright and refreshed!

Wolfberger-Pinot-Blanc
This is the white varietal of the Pinot Noir, which explains their physical similarities (leaves and grapes both). Also called the Clevner, it gives supple wines with a touch of acidity for freshness. The Pinot Blanc is used to make wines that are particularly well-balanced between roundness and acidity. They are found in the mid-range of Alsace wines, between dry wines such as the Sylvaner andRiesling and sweeter wines such as Gewurztraminer. The Pinot Blanc goes perfectly with white meats such as poultry, pheasant and pork, with fish and with any kind of egg dish. The wine is a clear, pale yellow with hints of green, depending on the lighting. The bouquet is fresh with fruity notes of apple and peach, embellished with a touch of floral aromas. On the palate the Pinot Blanc is instantly fresh with average acidity, making it a pleasant wine for any occasion.

Pinot Blanc is now the most planted varietal in Alsace and the most approachable and also, the most consistent year in and year out. The wine is delicate, subtle and well-built, not far in style for an unoaked Chardonnay, like a Mâcon or Chablis. Hugel’s Classic Pinot Blanc makes an excellent aperitif because, although nicely rounded, it is also refreshing. The perfect all-purpose dry white wine, pairing well with seafood, white meats, fresh vegetable dishes, and even contrast with richer cuisine. About the Brand: For over 370 years and with 13-family generations the Hugel family has unrivaled experience and knowledge of Alsace vineyards and winemaking. Known today for their passion and modern outlook, the dynamic Hugel family, located in the picture-postcard fortified village of Riquewihr, has earned a worldwide reputation for their Alsace wines. From Hugel’s Grossi Laüe to Vendange Tardive, their wines are released only when the family agrees they are ready; the focus is ultimate quality. A first-time taste of these wines is a revelation. Critical Acclaim: 2017: 90 points Wine Enthusiast “A yeasty touch still clings to the lemon and green pear notes on the nose. The palate makes most of this textural element and disperses it with bright lemon throughout the fresh and dry palate. It's versatile, light but concentrated wine.” Wine Enthusiast
