Wine in Okanagan Falls

Cabernet flavours are most evident on the nose, with red bell pepper, currants, cedar and mint, but the palate is where all of the other grapes from the blend come together seamlessly, each bringing a crucial component to the final wine. Plenty of dark, dusty cocoa and espresso flavours contribute to a good earthy backbone, while blackberries, black Kalamata olives, prunes and currants provide healthy fruit character. An Okanagan dusty sage element adds another layer of complexity, which becomes a slight minty element on the long, beautiful, chocolaty finish. Drink now with a premium cut of steak.

Straw yellow colour and beautiful clarity. The nose is very youthful and jumps out with banana and papaya. Honey and lemon mingle with pear and honeydew melon. The palate is focused and precise, with more refreshing citrus-driven acidity than in 2016. Tropical fruit in the mid-palate and crisp lingering finish. This wine screams for shellfish.

The puzzling complexity of terroir, oak ageing, vintages and those ridiculous descriptors is just too much. Our Rigamarole white menagerie of goats, hedgehogs and geese is chock full of the fanciful and big on the outlandish, but upon inspection you’ll notice a carefully choreographed collection of interesting varieties. Like our dry white blend – an engaging mingling of aromatic varieties including Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Don’t let these eccentric names fool you – it’s a wonderfully dry, aromatic and engaging white. Asian, Thai, and Indian food pairings are a great match for Rigamarole White’s dry and aromatic character.

Harvested on October10, 2018 with a brix level of 24.4, the grapes were locally grown and harvested 100% from Jack Lewko’s Vineyard located at the end of Therapy Vineyards driveway. The fruit was hand sorted to remove any unwanted clusters and debris before being whole cluster pressed. After the gentle pressing cycle the must was sent to stainless steel tanks for primary fermentation. Utilizing a single yeast strain this batch of wine has a very distinct profile coming from the terroir of Jack Lewko’s property creating an impressive wine. The must were cold fermented between 16-18 degrees, to help bring forward and develop a fruit driven profile. After alcoholic fermentation was complete the wines were chilled to -2 for cold stabilization, and treated with a bentonite fining to provide heat stability. The wine was then left in stainless steel vessels to age and mature, which allowed the wine time to harmonize and settle before bottling on April 13, 2018.

Our Reserve Shiraz is inky in colour with aromas of dark fruits, violet, and peppercorn. This vintage is full-bodied with flavours of Bing cherries, rosemary, anise, and brambleberry.

Our vibrant Pinot Blanc begins with aromas of Golden Delicious apple and white peach then unfolds into flavourful layers of pink grapefruit, nectar and a lemon-lime crisp acidity throughout the bright mouthfeel.

This Fruit forward wine is loaded with aroma of blackberry, cherry and hints of plum with accompanying notes of vanilla and anise. The soft tannins and long linger fruit finish with the light accompanying notes of oak make this a well balanced wine in flavour and structure which makes this wine easily approachable. Made with 100% Merlot grapes, cellar 4-7 years.

This blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot is a full-bodied wine. Merlot and Cabernet Franc provide backbone to Cabernet Sauvignon’s structure with a touch of Petit Verdot for extra body and tannins. Red cherry and cassis aromas are on the nose and extend through to the first sip. Sage, vanilla, lavender, and sandalwood notes intermingle.

Our creamy Reserve Sauvignon Blanc is a balance of ying and yang where lush tropical fruit and citrus dance with lemongrass, and lime. A favourite to begin nearly any occasion.

Concentrated smoky aromas of chocolate, anise, and blackberry continue on the palate. The texture of this wine is very dense and concentrated, with slightly edgy tannins. The tannins soften through a long minerally finish.

This is one of our winery’s most popular wines and for very good reason. It offers tremendous value for the price and is made in an aromatic, fruity, easy drinking style. Our Gewürztraminer is a valley blend sourced from vineyards here on the property along with fruit from our vineyards in South East Kelowna.

Riesling: with its mouthwatering acidity, a hint of sweetness, and moderate alcohol levels, can be the ultimate example of balance in wine. It is therefore extremely flexible when it comes to pairing with a wide range of foods. The balance between sugar and acid also allows Riesling to support delicious aromas and flavours of citrus and tropical fruit, flowers, and spice. The greatest mouth-watering examples I know originate in Germany, and it was Germans who brought the first Riesling to the Okanagan Valley. We make this wine in a Spätlese style; off-dry enough to keep it mouth-wateringly juicy. It is our goal each vintage to increase the flavour intensity in this case using 40 year-old vines and six months of lees contact in order to create a wine of great complexity that will be long-lived.

Our Reserve Red Wine has black pepper and boysenberry on the nose, followed by flavours of plum, blackberry, and a touch of sage. Oak barrel aging rounded out the silky tannins and seamlessly integrated this wine.

The Brut “Gold Label” has a fine mousse, with lemon and toasty character on the nose and across the palate, with a crisp lemon finish. The wine is made in the Methode Traditionnelle style.

The grapes are hand-picked from select vineyards and lots which exhibit the potential to go into our top wines. Our Reserve Merlot is blended from the best Merlot barrels identified by our winemaker. Available exclusively online and at the winery.
