Courriere Napoleon Brandy is a very old and prestigious brand, which was first recorded in the 19th century in the second half. Courriere is recognized as the best brand in the world produced in France. In France brandy is called eau-de-vie, a designation that includes any fermented juice that has been distilled. Most frequently this will be grape juice, but eau-de-vie can be made from apple juice, pear juice, and other fruit juices. The French also consider alcohols such as vodka (which is made from fermented potatoes) and grain alcohols to be eaux-de-vie.

In addition to normally bottled pear brandy, we do a special bottling of pear-in-the-bottle. To make pear-in-the-bottle we actually grow the pear inside of the bottle in our orchards, and then fill it with our pear eau de vie. This practice of growing pears in the bottle is traditional in Alsace where pear brandy has been made for hundreds of years. Pear-in-the-bottle is highly labor intensive, requiring weeks of work putting the bottles on the trees in late May when the small pear will still fit in the neck of the bottle, tending them all summer, and picking them in late August. Since we use no preservatives or artificial cleaning solutions, each pear and each bottle must be painstakingly scrubbed by hand before we fill with our pear eau de vie for which we are known worldwide.

Les Reserves d'Arton Poire Ancienne is a true fruit brandy, or eau de vie (water of life). Extracting the character of several ancient and heirloom varietals of pear into spirit form. Traditionally enjoyed chilled, or after dinner, this spirit has recently become embraced by craft cocktail bartenders and mixologists worldwide. Estate grown heirloom orchard pears are fermented and distilled to capture the purest expression of their essence. Bottled at 42% ABV. Les Réserves d’Arton represent a 30 year partnership between Château Arton, known for their award winning Haut-Armagnacs, and Cherry Rocher, the oldest distillery in France (est. 1705) specializing in the distillation of fruit brandies. These expressions showcase the agricultural bounties of the Dordogne region, located in Southwestern France. Each is produced according to Cherry Rocher’s unique expertise and based upon specifications by Patrick de Montal of Arton – exclusive to that particular fruit to obtain the best expression of its essence.

This Grappa Di Gavi is Cortese di Gavi exclusively cultivated in the D.O.C.G. Gavi town district. 100% Cortese Since 1832 the Inga family has been producing 100% varietal grappa. Focusing only on grappa production, they produce no wine. Lorenzo Inga is the fifth generation of Ingas to run the Inga family grappa business. Lorenzo Inga is dedicated to producing the finest grappa. Traditional grappa is usually distilled in industrial column stills using the pressings from the winemaker's leftovers stems, seeds, skins and leaves. Lorenzo's method is to purchase the vinacce, the grape skins and pulp from small wineries after only the first pressings being used to make wine. Using these second pressings, presses the grapes and the Lorenzo free-flowing juices retain the grape's aromatics and varietal characteristics. This "must" is then fermented and double distilled in small alambic copper pot stills, like those used for distillation of the finest French cognacs. According to this is the secret to good, varietal grappa. To make sure Lorenzo Inga that it is as fresh as humanly possible, collects thevinacce and distills it within 24 hours of the Lorenzo first pressing, usually within 18 hours.

A very worthy competitor to the best Calvados, in our opinion. We crush and ferment the whole apple, using Golden Delicious apples grown in the Yakima Valley, and distill. Following the customs of the Calvados makers of Normandy, the high proof apple spirit is aged in a combination of old and new Cognac barrels, made of Limousin oak, for at least eight years. The result is a beautiful amber brandy, with a remarkable amount of apple in the nose, but with the sophistication and complexity gained from all those years in oak. This has a lot of appeal to the traditional brandy drinker as well, as its color and barrel aged qualities are more familiar.

XO means “extra old” and this denomination is used for the best distillates, on condition that they are aged in wooden barrels for at least six years, when the maturation reaches its maximum quality. The Grappa XO Sibona ages for more than six years in small French oak barrels in the acient distillery’s cellar. The final product is a blend obtained from the fermented residue of renown varietal grapes such as Nebbiolo (Barolo and Barbaresco) and Barbera from Langhe and Roero.
