Raspberry Jam was initially developed at our brewpub, the Tallgrass Tap House. It became an instant hit and we decided it should “go on tour” as part of the Tallgrass lineup. Its crisp, natural tartness is balanced by the addition of raspberries, creating a sour wheat ale that’s light-bodied and refreshing.

Bourbon Barrel Buffalo Sweat is the second barrel-aged release from Tallgrass Brewing Co. We took our award-winning oatmeal cream stout and aged it in bourbon barrels to create a rich, complex, medium-bodied beer with a chocolate-espresso flavor and aroma, and warm bourbon undertones.

Copper-hued and medium bodied, our Amber Ale boasts a sweet biscuit-y front with a dense beige head. Underlying its creamy texture are toasty, bready malts with restrained hints of hop bitterness in its beautiful balance.

Several years in the making and hitting shelves for the first time in October 2015, Big RICC is large and in charge. A big, bold Russian Imperial Stout, Big RICC rolls in at 10.5% ABV and packs a punch. Every batch is brewed with 200 pounds of coffee from Radina’s Coffeehouse & Roastery right here in our hometown of Manhattan, Kansas!

Zombie Monkie is a dark, rich porter, carefully brewed for the post-apocalyptic world to come. Crafted with lots of roasty dark chocolate and specialty malts, then inoculated with enough hops to add a floral/citrus character in the finish. It’s hardy, complex, and interesting, because you might be drinking it for a long time

If you only try one dark beer in your life, try a Buffalo Sweat. It will change your entire perception of how a stout should taste. Our secret is milk sugar. The creamy sweetness of the milk sugar is not lost in the brewing process and beautifully complements the copious quantities of the dark-roasted barley to create a medium-bodied beer that is rich, complex, and delicious with a definitive espresso-chocolate aroma and flavor.

No. 8 in the Boulevard Smokestack Series. "Double Witbier" Conventional wisdom holds that there are two sides to every story. Though our new Two Jokers Double-Wit is hardly conventional, there are in fact two distinct pieces to its personality. On the one hand, it’s a revival of the classic Belgian “wit,” or “white” beer, a style dating back to the late 1800s. The use of lactic fermentation and ingredients like coriander and orange peel are hallmarks of the style, as are the cloudiness and the pale color that give the beer its name. On the other hand, it’s a modern, uniquely American specialty brew; big, flavorful, and spiced with cardamom, lavender, and grains of paradise. Two Jokers has a refreshing tartness, nicely balanced by a well rounded malt bill graced by notes of caramel. Belgian yeast brings floral aromas with hints of banana and clove, and a citrusy zing to the tongue. Two Jokers Double-Wit pairs well with the lighter fare of spring and summer, such as grilled fish or chicken, feta cheese, fresh garden salads, and fruit compotes.

This beer is a Belgian Tripel that lives up to its name. Smooth and carefully crafted like a fine velvet painting, but with an 8.5% ABV this bird has some spurs! The beer pours a golden straw color with brilliant clarity. Topped with a lofty pure white head the beer has a wonderful floral nose, with subtle fruit notes. The taste is clean and crisp, with subtle fruit notes and a touch of candy like sweetness. The beer has a Champagne-like effervescent that provides a crisp offset to its sweet finish. While a pint glass is always nice, Velvet Rooster would also be at home in a tulip glass or Champagne flute.

It’s no secret that we love hops at Tallgrass. But it’s not always about beers with huge hop flavor; sometimes we use hops in a more subtle fashion.We also use the dry-hopping process in a more delicate beer like Songbird Saison to create a refreshing Belgian-style ale where apricot and lemon flavors mingle with fresh-cracked pepper and citrus notes. What does it mean to “Be a Grizz?” Being a Grizz means going big in everything you do. It’s a mindset, an unofficial company motto we’ve followed for years. It’s what caused us to double the amount of roasted barley and lactose used while developing Buffalo Sweat, which took it from an average test beer to our #1 brand! It’s also what inspired us to go all-in with 16 oz. cans for our year-round beers and seasonal brands when we switched from bottles in 2010, a decision that helped the brewery achieve tremendous growth.

Our Hop-Rocket* infuses the character of Australian grown Galaxy Hops into and American Pale Ale, giving a unique tropical almost melon aroma in a classic American Style.
