A jewel in the Mediterranean, Sardinia is a rustic and enchantingly beautiful island with extreme geography and vinous diversity to tempt travelers and wine enthusiasts alike. Founded over a century ago by Messrs. Sella and Mosca, two well-respected figures during the Risorgimento (Italy’s 19th-century unification movement). The property is now home to over 1,200 acres of vines. As Sardinia’s foremost wine producer, Sella & Mosca’s premium wines are made exclusively from estate-grown grapes. In addition to native varieties such as Vermentino, Torbato and Cannonau, the winery has successfully pioneered the introduction of international grape varieties, notably Cabernet Sauvignon.

La Mora, "meaning horse" is dedicated to the history of Maremma, a coastal region with a Mediterranean climate, which used to be home to roaming cowboys on horseback. This Vermentino wine is delightful with a flavor profile that lands in between Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. Expressing hints of succulent tropical fruits, mature pulp, fresh fragrant style, and a pleasant minerality.

100% Vermentinu from the limestone soils mentioned above, it is fermented naturally in stainless steel before being racked into cement vats. One of the vats went through malolactic fermentation, the other didn’t, and the tanks were blended after 5 months for bottling. Very low SO2.

Complex fruity nose – lemon thistle, white cherry, pear skin, herbal tinged; good weight of ripe fruit, good acidity on the palate. A verve of intensity in a very well-made wine.

“Here come the white wings”.This was the children’s cry as they watched the seagulls fly over the vineyard. Vermentino is the main white grape cultivated in Sardinia. It is presumed to have Spanish origins, but has found its ideal setting in the North of Sardinia, where it can fully express its particular characteristics.

Easy and wouth wathering

This is a white Tuscan blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne, Trebbiano, Vermentino.

Megan and I make a great pair. Our tastes in wine rarely diverge. We agree 99% of the time. This Vermentino represents a fundamental disagreement of the most endearing qualities this grape has to offer. Inspired by some of our favorite producers in Italy like Dettori and Massa Vecchia, and being an orange wine fanatic in general, I knew we had to make Vermentino as a compliment to the Ribolla Gialla when I came across the Las Brisas Vineyard in Carneros. Megan thought it was a superb idea, but had her sights fixed on the bright, clean, aromatic examples from places like the Ligurian coast or Gallura in Sardegna. The only compromise was to have separate projects, “His” and “Hers”. “Hers” with a green label harvested for freshness and energy. It is whole cluster pressed and bottled early. “His”, orange label, is fermented on the skins, and requires more time in barrel. This aromatic late-ripening variety comes from the cool foggy Las Brisas Vineyard on the Sonoma side of Carneros AVA. Situated on sandy silt and gravel at the end of the Petaluma Wind Gap and just off San Pablo Bay, it is a beautiful site for white wines.

100% Vermentino. Tank fermented and true to varietal. The profile of the wine is lively and crisp with blossoming floral aromatics jumping out of the glass. Flavors of fresh green apples, and bittersweet almond are complemented by undertones of Thai basil. This wine is perfect pair all year round as it is enjoyed w i th a multitude of cuisines and settings.

Bisson ages the grapes for its Marea Cinque Terre for an extended time on the lees, imbuing it with the qualities of a “skin-contact” or “orange wine.” No light-bodied quaffer, this ode to Cinque Terre is a full-bodied, earthy wine of immense character, with a deep golden tint. The wine’s heady brew of tropical fruits, cinnamon and nutmeg, herbs, almonds and its signature piquant brininess makes this Cinque Terre unique, unforgettable, and deeply evocative of its Mediterranean terroir.

The name Pagliatura, meaning “hay,” references the golden color of the wine. White peach, apple, and pear aromas abound, while floral notes further enhance the bouquet. A hint of mint adds an interesting component to the flavor profile. Vinified in stainless steel to allow maximum fruit expression, the wine is refined on the fine lees for 3 months. Although bottle aged for an additional 6 months, this wine remains fresh. A savory wine to enjoy with a meal.

Merì (meaning “sunset” in Sardinian dialect) is a highly aromatic Vermentino with heightened aromas, lower alcohol, and minimum sulphur. The wine shows an intense bouquet of white flowers, herbs, and citrus, with minerals and juicy acidity on the palate. Merì is a pure expression of place and varietal. Vermentino is an excellent aperitivo and its lemony acidity and herbal character is perfect for the Mediterranean table. Vermentino will accent langoustines or squid but carries enough weight to work with spaghetti topped with bottarga or a bowl of brothy clams and fregola. The herbal flavor of Vermentino can also highlight vegetables such as fava beans or fennel.
