It’s hard to stay a lone wolf for long, so you’ve got to stay looking over your shoulder as the weird ones are out there. It could be time to show a little teeth and let them know your bark isn’t worse than your bite. There are always new wolves in town equally hungry and equally weird. Don’t be afraid to let ‘em know who leads the pack. The most savage vintage yet. It’s deep and bloody, dripping with meaty fruit. The broad shoulders will help it age gracefully with time, but this is no brute. Its elegant baking spice and dried floral components compliment its power.

Dark red brick in color. The aroma is filled with fine sandalwood, prunes, ripe blueberries and hints of liquorice. The mouth-feel is elegant but firm and there is a nice round fruit component that is wonderfully balanced by great minerality, fine toasted oak and layers of ripe tannins. There is a vibrant long finish with a hint of bell pepper typically for Cabernet Franc. This is a great food wine and will improve nicely with age.

This bright and forward Cabernet Franc offers up loads of spicy, peppery aromas that include cherry and berry scents. The palate is medium weight with cassis, plum, basil, oregano and spice flavors. This finishes long, with notes of coffee and chocolate entering the picture.

It strikes the eye for its intense ruby red colour with a tint of purple, its bouquet a distinct characteristic and persistent herbaceous note. A full-bodied, generous, well structured, nearly “aristocratic” wine. As it ages the herbaceous note attenuates and its taste becomes elegant, harmonious.

The Maquis Cabernet Franc is grown in the Colchagua Valley. The wine is made from grapes grown on the Maquis estate, between the Chimbarongo Creek and the Tinguiririca River in central Colchagua Valley. These elements are ideal for producing Cabernet Franc grapes that are full and rich, yet display balance and elegance.

Biodynamic and certified organic. 100% Cabernet Franc. From a one hectare plot of vines ranging from 15 to 50 years in age. Sandy-clay over Turonian-era limestone. Hand-harvested in small bins in the early morning to keep temperatures low. Native yeast fermentation in concrete vats for 3 weeks without pumpovers to limit extraction. Aged for 8 months in concrete vats. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with no additions besides minimal SO2. 500 cs produced.

The classic Australian red Cuvée – just the sort of wine for which Southern Australia is famed. The Shiraz brings plum flavors and subtle spices, while the Cabernet Sauvignon lends the wine its character and structure, as well as notes of blackcurrant. Barrel-aged for 12 months in 300-liter hogsheads (French and American oak).
