Akvavit (pronounced: ack-va-vit) is a flavoured spirit that is popular throughout Scandinavia. Its name comes from aqua vitae, Latin for 'water of life'. The classic Bornholmer Akvavit is a clear spirit with a lingering finish of caraway and dill.

Known as the “gin from the bottom of the world,” Scapegrace is produced on New Zealand’s South Island using water sourced from one of the world’s last natural aquifers, fed from the country’s Southern Alps. The botanicals are distilled using neutral grain spirit in a restored 19th century copper pot still found in an abandoned shed. Master Distiller John Fitzpatrick uses 12 botanicals for Scapegrace Classic (juniper berries, lemon peel, orange peel, coriander seeds, cardamom pods, nutmeg, cloves, angelica root, licorice root, orris root, cinnamon sticks, and cassia bark), and a thirteenth for the navy strength Scapegrace Gold expression (dried tangerine).

Naturally black based on the colours and flavors from botanical extracts including, Aronia Berry, Saffron, Pineapple, Butterfly Pea and Sweet Potato. On the pallet it is full bodied, chilling with a candied sweet potato and pineapple finish, the mouth feel is luxurious, velvety and ridiculously delicious.

Inspired by the spectacular Cape Palliser Lighthouse on the southernmost tip of the North Island of New Zealand, each bottle of Lighthouse Gin contains a unique blend of botanicals, including fresh zest from New Zealand Navel oranges and Yen Ben lemons. We handcraft our gin with water that travels from high in the Rimutaka Ranges, filtering down to a spring beside the breathtaking Wharekauhau Country Estate in Palliser Bay.

This premium vodka from New Zealand is soft and light on the palate with a cleanly balanced finish.

Gin

There aren’t a ton of restrictions on the source materials you can use to make vodka. Distillers can use pretty much anything that can be broken down into fermentable sugar as the source for vodka, as long as it’s distilled to near neutrality. While the sky may be the limit for source materials, vodka is most commonly made from corn (Crystal Head), wheat (Absolut), grapes, rye (Belvedere), potatoes (Karlsson’s), and the ubiquitous “neutral grain” which can be almost any grain or mix of grains (including even soy). Whey isn’t a very common vodka source, although like any fermentable sugar it can be transformed into alcohol with the right kind of yeast. VDKA 6100 Vodka may not be the first vodka to use whey (that distinction goes to Vermont Spirit’s White Vodka), but it is the first real major international play for whey in the vodka category.
