Seasonal Ale

Our golden orange-colored Pumpkin Ale is brewed with pumpkin and spices to produce a delicious taste of fall. This mild ale has little bitterness and a malty backbone. The spicy characteristics take the lead in this roasty beer and its tremendous depth of character will keep you warm during the fall season.

St.Bernardus Christmas Ale is a dark seasonal brewed in the classic 'Quadrupel' style of Belgium's best Abbey Ales. (10,0 % ABV) Similar to all the beers from our brewery, it greets the drinker with the signature aroma of the St.Bernardus house yeast strain (in use since 1946!) Rivaling the complexity of the St.Bernardus Abt 12, St.Bernardus Christmas Ale offers a spicy, mint-like flavor profile exuding the tastes of warming alcohol, fermented molasses, apricots, licorice and marzipan that are highligted by the perfect balance of brewing sugars.

Our Winter Ale is a hearty, robust amber ale. We use pale, Vienna, crystal and chocolate malts to create a balanced character of malt and hops with just the right amount of spice to warm you up during the colder months.

At Weyerbacher, we’ve created a Winter Ale that is a must for any malty beer lover. Winner of a Silver Medal in the 1998 World Beer Championships, Weyerbacher Winter Ale is brewed with deep-roasted chocolate malt. The taste predominates with a warm, roasty flavor, balanced out with a slightly dry finish. It’s smooth but not cloying, with a warming belt of alcohol, 5.6% ABV. Although winter ales predate history, they are believed to have their origin in the pagan celebrations of winter solstice. Later, when monasteries produced the local brew, winter ales were made each year to commemorate the birth of Christ. Back then, winter ales were brewed full-bodied as a source of nutrition for the upcoming winter months. Today, winter ales are typified by their seasonality, their rich, malty flavors and by their deep, dark coloration. Winter Ale is the perfect libation for a winter meal, with good friends, or beside a warm fire fending off a cold winter night.

A clandestine mission to parts unknown inspired the creation of this fine stout. Black Helicopter has been infused with the finest roasted coffee on the planet. The beans were secretly flown to our roaster in the sleepy hamlet of Minneapolis, where they were transformed into delicious coffee. Enjoy this beer with the closest of friends. (Seasonal: May - August) Try our new refreshingly light and crisp Strawberry Best! We start with an American Wheat style recipe that’s a perfect compliment for fruit. We add real strawberry puree to the secondary fermentation, which gives the beer a naturally subtle strawberry flavor and aroma with a slight tartness. Light in color and soft in bitterness this beer is designed specifically to be enjoyed during the hot summer months.

Spicy with light earth tones and a very slight roasty character; overall light mouth feel.

This seasonal ale adds a unique twist on an appellation from Germany with the addition of fresh watermelon puree to the light, clean and crisp German Style Ale. The subtle sweetness from the fruit compliments the malt and hop character to create an incredibly ale. This seasonal beer is excellent in the summertime and best enjoyed outdoors with friends.

Pours a dark, coffee black with reasonable head. Aromas of chocolate fudge with a bit of coffee. Semi-sweet toasted taste with a very subtle hop tang. Coffee notes gradually dissipate thru the finish.

Every fall marks the return of our legendary Halloween Ale – the beer so good, it’s scary! This masterful brew is not only a great rendition of the Extra Special Bitter style (ESB) but a great alternative to the annual onslaught of pumpkin beers. No pumpkins are harmed in the brewing of this beer! This robust brew has a deep amber color, a bold, malty palate and a well-rounded hop finish.
Halloween Ale is smooth and creamy with a medium-to-full body. It has a big malty flavor with toasted caramel balanced by ripe pear and faint apple undertones. The hops give it ample bitterness, but the beer finishes a bit sweet. Halloween Ale, the perfect beer for a crisp autumn day!

In tribute to the favored beer of Cologne (Köln), Germany, this German-Style Kölsch is golden-colored with a subtle, crisp sweetness. A wonderful summer story awaits in every sip; it’s Wünderbier!

Our Belgian-Style Golden Ale opens with a fruity nose and rounded sweetness that compose a pale and balanced beer. Hallertau hops lend a hint of spice that balances the aroma and flavor of orchard fruit. Similar to a Belgian Tripel, but with a lighter body and a crisper finish, it is the perfect introduction to the family of Belgian beers renowned for their complexity and delicacy. Beers from this region reflected the diversity of Belgium itself, a nation that has three official languages (Dutch, French, and German). Bordering Germany and France, Belgian ales incorporate the complex flavors of French wine into the German brewing heritage. In Post World War II Europe, Belgian brewers developed golden strong ales to compete with the rising popularity of lighter Pilsner style beers.

Brewed with pureed pumpkins added directly to the mash, and pumpkin pie spices added at the end of the boil, this beer packs a ton of flavor into a malty and smooth amber colored ale. Perfect for when the weather starts to change and ugly sweaters come out of storage.

Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Cigar City, Philly Taco is Belgian Brown brewed with rye and corn, dry hopped with Mosaic, Ahtanum, Columbus and packaged conditioned with Brettanomyces clausenii.

Highly aromatic and sensual, this novel pale ale delivers a fresh hop flavor like no other brew. Its secret? Fresh hops piled into our boiling kettle just hours after their harvest. With many more of their essential oils intact, these ‘wet’ hops add glorious middle notes of juicy, fruit and tea-like bite to play off of its lightly toasted malt character deliciously.

Made with coffee from UP Coffee Roasters this brew has the nose of a chocolate covered espresso bean. Let it pour over your tongue as notes of espresso and dark chocolate tantalize your taste buds. Just love making IPA's, so here's another one that uses the hop blend called Zythos that is just delicious and should be enjoyed with a blow-up doll or something similiar.

Only the finest Belgian grains were brewed with Belgian candied sugar and orange blossom honey from the Bermuda Triangle then aged for several months to produce a bright, golden ale bursting with flavors of lemon, spice, and a touch of that orange blossom honey sweetness. This is an ale that is deceptively smooth and easy drinking, so be careful not to lose yourself in the flavors of Bermuda Triangle.
