KSA combines a thoughtful mixture of American bittering hops and traditional German malts to create a complex yet crisp take on the Kölsch style. Munich and Vienna malts construct the beer’s robust, rich grain flavor, while Saphir and Warrior hops bring balance through a clean finish. KSA’s old-school style, blended with bright, updated ingredients, makes this beer a classic on both continents.

A true German-style Kölsch. Originally brewed in Cologne, this beer is crisp & refreshing, yet has a sweet malty body that is balanced by a complex, citrus hop character. Multiple additions of German Hallertauer hops are used to achieve this delicate flavor. We use a special Kölsch yeast, an ale yeast that ferments at lager temperatures, to yield the slightly fruity, clean flavor of this beer. Fancy Lawnmower Beer is a world class brew yet light enough to be enjoyed by Texans after strenuous activities, like mowing the lawn. Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower Beer is best consumed at 35-45° Fahrenheit. Recommended pairings: Blackened fish, salads, & grilled veggies.

Kalifornia-Kolsch
This is a light, crisp and refreshing golden ale in the style of those brewed in the German city of Cologne (Koln). A slightly sweet aroma with a hint of grassiness leads to herbal and spicy hop character and sweet malt notes. Though fermented at a cool temperature for an ale, Magnolia's Kolsch ale yeast provides a complex, fruity finish fading to a crisp hop note at the very end. Kolsch is typically served in small, cylindrical glasses meant to be refilled often, insuring that every glass remains refreshingly cool with bright effervescence.

The laws protecting the brewing of kolsch are as strict as the German Purity Law of 1516. Kolsch beer can only be brewed within the city of Cologne. As the best-known kolsch brewery Gaffel's flavor is derived from an ale yeast that is lagered (or aged) in cold cellars. Gaffel is pale faintly fruity with a crisp hop finish. Enjoy as an aperitif or digestif.

This 4.8% ABV beer is an unfiltered kolsch from Freigeist, the experimental offshoot of Cologne’s small brewery Braustelle, a part of the Brauerei Goller of Zeil Am Main, Germany. On a clever play on words the name of the beer translates as “ Eau de Cologne." The beer pours a slightly hazy golden yellow. There is a tall head of thick white foam. The aroma is grassy, lightly fruity with a tart note, a touch floral, all over golden grain with light straw. The taste follows the aromas, moderately bitter, drinking light but flavorful, with a super clean and dry finish.

Zunft Kölsch uses an Ale yeast, but is lagered. This extra cold-conditioning gives the beer a very unique flavor profile. It gives the beer a subtle fruity nose common with ales but then gives way to a sweet layered complex finish that is clean and crisp like a lager. Bright and straw-yellow in color, this beer has a prominent but not extreme hoppiness.
