London Pride is a smooth and astonishingly complex beer, which has a distinctive malty base complemented by a rich balance of well developed hop flavors from the target, challenger and northdown varieties in the brew. Wheatseeker is a German-style Hefeweizen, fermented with a yeast strain used in Germany for hundreds of years. A light-bodied easy-drinker, with a wheat and yeast combination that creates a slightly spicy character. We hopped it with German grown Opal hops, which lends a slight citrus effect.

Sometimes it seems our lives are spent fighting the current as we make our way upstream, but sometimes it’s best to jump in your kayak and go where the river takes you. Drift is First Magnitude’s dark, malt-focused beer. It is a robust English Mild that is full of malt flavor, but still has a medium body and can be fully enjoyed in warmer weather. Drift is brewed with American two-row pale malt as a base and has Crystal 20, Munich, Brown, Aromatic, Chocolate and Black Patent malts for a complex malt profile. Warrior hops are used for bittering and Hallertau Mittelfruh adds a subtle hop character. British Ale yeast gives it just a hint of fruity esters and a well-rounded flavor that will have you asking for another pour.

The Mercury Brewing Company emerged in 1999 when Rob Martin, then Director of Operations for Ipswich Brewing Company, purchased the brewery and renamed the company Mercury Brewing and Distribution Company. While continuing production of Ipswich Ale, Martin expanded the company with Stone Cat Ales and Lagers, Mercury Premium Sodas, and numerous contract brewing agreements.

The distinctive hop character of our 5 Barrel Pale Ale is due to the extraction of essential oils from select hops. We treat 5 Barrel Pale Ale to an infusion of fresh whole hop flowers in the Hop Back and the Fermentor, as well as four hop additions during the kettle boil. We like how this gives the beer a fresh, lively flavor and aroma.

Our flagship brew highlights barrel-fermented batches from our patented Firestone Union blended with beer fermented in stainless steel. It opens with a biscuity toasted malt aroma and a hint of oak and vanilla. Pale malts create a smooth malty middle with ribbons of caramel, English toffee and toasted oak. A tribute to English pales traditionally fermented in cask.

A Pale Ale with a real difference. A little maltier in the English Style rather than hoppier like most American Pale Ales. Medium-bodied with sweet, bready malt aroma. And, its subtle hop aroma and bitterness balance the sweet caramel and biscuit malt backbone. Think of it as an Octoberfest that hasn't been lagered.

Southwold Bitter is a beautiful copper-coloured beer, late and dry-hopped with Fuggles for a distinctive, lingering hoppiness. Brewed with the finest East Anglian Pale Ale malt barley, sourced locally to the brewery. We use Fuggles hops which we add late in the boil to preserve the herbal flavours of this traditional English hop. We add more Fuggles to each cask so that the flavour of the hops infuses into the beer.
