Louis Latour Pouilly Fuisse

Louis-Latour-Pouilly-Fuisse
Pouilly-Fuissé is one of the most popular as well as most prestigious wines from southern Burgundy. This fine 2012, with its pale yellow color and emerald highlights is naturally unctuous due to the low yields of the vintage. There are beautiful white fruit aromas that mix very-well with fine almond notes. There are also Muscat-like aromatics that can be smelt and which linger in the mouth. A wine to be savored while young with lovely minerality and focused finish.

The wine shows bright white flower, apple and citrus aromas and bracing, fresh, clean fruit on the palate, with mineral notes. This is a classic expression of Chardonnay from this appellation. Pair this wine with poultry, shellfish, grilled firm-fleshed fish such as swordfish, and salads.

Clos Reyssie draws its strength and personality from the rich and deep clay residue of its terroir. Its fruit-filled, well-ripened personality enhances its smooth yellow peach and exotic fruit aromas. Happiest when side by side with a delightful menu, it is tireless in its efforts to dazzle poultry in cream, fish in sauce... as well as hearty appetites!

Saint-Véran can show some of the same apple, lemon, and brioche flavors found in Pouilly-Fuissé, although it tends to be less full-bodied. This Saint-Véran shows floral aromas and a touch of “pierre a fusil,” the mineral quality that typifies many white Burgundies. White Burgundy, with its richness, texture, and toasted flavors pairs well with light fish and shellfish and can counterbalance cream-based sauces. Oak-aged Chardonnay lends itself well to grilled fish, starches, butter, and toasted nuts.

This Mâcon-Villages sports a very flashy pale gold color with hints of emerald green. Its bouquet suggests complex, subtle aromas of white Spring flowers, such as acacia, lilies and hawthorn, as well as typical citrus notes. On the palate, it expresses the engaging character of chardonnay that wine lovers everywhere have come to appreciate. Almond and hazelnut finish.

Make a Mâcon your house white. They're a versatile aperitif, and with simple lunch fare such as quiche or tuna salad. They dress up pretty well for dinner, too.

The nose is fragrant with beautiful floral notes (acacia and honeysuckle) against a slightly mineral background. The palate is lively, fruity and floral with a refreshing finish. Pairing: With a meal, this white Mâcon-Villages is the perfect match for shellfish, seafood and white meats in cream, or full-flavoured cheeses.

Georges-Duboeuf-Pouilly-Fuisse
This pale yellow colored Chardonnay from Pouilly Fuisse opens with a mild green apple bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and round. The flavor profile is a mild Bosc pear with nicely integrated minerality. I also detected some walnut flavors as well. The finish is dry and its pleasant flavors linger nicely after the wine is gone. This wine would pair well with three cheese spinach ravioli with a light cream sauce or trout almondine.

Aromas of lemon zest, yellow fruit, crushed stones. Plush and weighty on the tongue; vibrant mineral core. Great as an aperitif or with mixed salads, roast chicken with herbs and fresh French cheeses.
