Lois-Gruner-Veltliner
Lois (rhyming with “choice”) is named after the village of Langenlois and was one of the first high-quality examples of Grüner Veltliner to be exported to international markets in 1999. Its intent is an easy-to-enjoy, fresh-tasting style of Grüner Veltliner produced from a combination of estate grown fruit and contracted growers in Lower Austria. Grüner Veltliner’s bright acidity and savory character make it and an ideal partner to mildly spiced Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. Fish and shellfish are accented by Grüner Veltliner’s citrus and mineral profile while its acidity cuts the richness of pork or ham. It can also work well with foods that are difficult to pair such as bitter greens and asparagus.

A touch of flint mixes in with the russet pear notes on the nose. The juicy palate shows of slenderness but also a texture that combines citrus pith, yeast and salt which complements the overriding juiciness well. This is light, dry and full of flavor.

Flowery, delicate lime fruit, apple and pineapple with a hint of herbs, spice and yeast, soft at first taste, despite its lively acidity, then straightforward, fresh on the palate, sappy fruit, mineral nuances, good structure and balance, medium body and fine minerals in the spicy finish. Classic for Kamptal Veltliner. Pairs well with smoked trout, ham, cold vegetables, tapas, or fresh marinated goat cheese with herbs; also very good with fish barbecue, sea food, or roasted chicken.

Loimer-Kamptal-Riesling
Riesling Kamptal DAC is intended to be a transparent snapshot of the varietal, the vintage, and most importantly the Kamptal itself. The Kamptal features gneiss and conglomerate soils at higher elevations, and cold air from the nearby Waldviertal forest provides optimal growing conditions for Riesling. Vinification is by spontaneous fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Austrian Riesling is always made in a dry style and shows aromas and flavors of ripe citrus, stone fruit, and flowers, with a persistent underpinning of minerality. Riesling’s high acidity makes it one of the most versatile wines at the table. Riesling can be used to cut the fattiness of foods such as pork or sausages and can tame saltiness. Conversely, it can highlight foods such as fish or vegetables in the same way a squeeze of lemon or a vinaigrette enhances a dish.

A blend of fruit off younger vines in Lamm, Grub and Renner, this is not Moosbrugger’s most complex wine by far, but it’s thrilling in its vivacity. It smells like textbook grüner, earthy and lentil-like; it tastes of citrus, pears and Mirabelle plums, with a bright, thirst-quenching immediacy. Round yet sleek, vibrant and floral, it lasts with energy. A wine to buy by the case.

Hiedler-Gruner-Veltliner
Heidler Gruner Veltliner 'Loess' is a stunning Gruner. One of the best! Ludwig Hiedler is crafting some of the most interesting, texturally compelling wines of the Kamptal region. The estate is a pioneer in ecological winegrowing and only sustainable vineyard practices and organic farming are implemented. The wine is precise and clean with a generous richness that is detailed and refined. Subtly gorgeous floral and fruit aromas and hints of typical yet attractive Gruner fennel and grass with more depth than usual because of the fantastic vintage. Lovely to pair with vegetables, salads and seafood and has an easy "gulpable" 11.5% alcohol. A lovely wine that over delivers!

Loimer-Gruner-Veltliner-Kamptal
Grüner Veltliner Langenlois Kamptal DAC is intended to be a transparent snapshot of the varietal, the vintage, and most importantly the Kamptal itself. Grüner Veltliner is the signature grape of Austria and produces a dry white wine with savory aromas, spicy flavors, and good acidity. Young Grüner Veltliner is fresh-tasting with notes of green apple, lemon, radish, and arugula. Lighter styles of Grüner Veltliner are intended for immediate drinking, while more structured examples can age for many years. Grüner Veltliner’s bright acidity and savory character make it an ideal partner to mildly spiced Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. Fish and shellfish are accented by Grüner Veltliner’s citrus and mineral profile while its acidity cuts the richness of pork or ham. It can also work well with foods that are difficult to pair such as bitter greens and asparagus.

Hirsch-Gruner-Veltliner
Hirsch "Veltliner" is the perfect entry level wine to get to know the Hirsch style: a vibrant easy drinking wine made from the indigenous Austrian grape variety Grüner Veltliner. Sourced from loess soils, it is light bodied, yet displays depth, charming fruit, and the variety's characteristic spiciness. Typical and beautiful Veltliner spicing, zesty, aromas of citric fruits and green apples underscored with notes of pepper; a slender, crisp and nervy wine with undertones of juicy fruits; Good bite, extremely vibrant, exhilarating.
