Made with fruit grown entirely in the Dry Creek Valley appellation, where the combination of climate and location produces excellent Zinfandel fruit with intensely concentrated flavor. Half of the fruit was crushed whole, and the must (seeds and skins) was fermented in open-top fermentors for maximum color extraction and flavor enhancement. One of the things that make this Zinfandel unique is the liberal amount of Petite Sirah added to the blend to enhance structure and complexity. We used a combination of French and American oak, favoring an American cooper that imparts a nice mocha-espresso nuance that blends well with our wine. The 2012 Director’s Cut Zinfandel delivers ample body and a velvety palate with a bouquet of blackberries, raspberries, clove and pepper followed by succulent flavors of cherries, mixed berries and mocha.

Armida-Maple-Vineyard-Zinfandel
The Maple Vineyard sits up on a bench above the east side of Dry Creek Valley, and is farmed utilizing old world techniques by Tom and Tina Maple. These old Zinfandel vines (85+ years) are dry farmed resulting in wines of great depth and concentration. The beautiful Zinfandel clusters are sorted a minimum of three times to ensure that only the highest quality fruit is being used for this unique single-vineyard wine. The inky-indigo color of the wine is a harbinger of the concentration of flavors to come. Wild blackberry, dried cranberry and brown sugar aromas rise from the glass. Hints of cedar and cinnamon escape and meld effortlessly with the fruit flavors. The wine begins with a lush, soft entry bringing fresh tart cherries and juicy pomegranates into focus. The seductive finish isnt cloying and sweet, but rather refined and succulent. The integrated tannins and great balance of savory and spice allow this wine to become more complex during the next ten years.

Mauritson-Zinfandel
* One Star * Intense, keenly focused on vital blackberry fruit and showing an uncanny sensation of polish for the very ripe wine that it is, this impressive young Zinfandel proves that success can be found in even the most difficult vintage. True to its maker, it is a big and sturdy wine with plenty of muscle and mass, and, if it can justly be accused of being a bit tight and nervy just now, it has all the right parts in all the right places to age famously for some five or six years.

The-Federalist-Visionary-Zinfandel
Not long after Alexander Hamilton pioneered The Federalist Party, Zinfandel began taking root in the U.S. Perhaps that's why Alexander and The Federalist Visionary Zinfandel share such big, bold qualities. Robust fruit with bright berry character and a lively acidity that could only come from Dry Creek Valley create a balance as refined and distinguished as our favorite founding father.

Rich lemon, pear and honey notes in the bouquet lead to fresh flavors of apple, meyer lemon, and mango. The blend of the two Chardonnay lots adds both fruit forward qualities and toasted oak complexity. Highlighted by bright acidity, the wine finishes crisp with a long lingering finish. Drink now—no aging required.

Dry-Creek-Heritage-Zinfandel
The 2013 Heritage Vines Zinfandel continues the string of delicious and beautifully balanced versions of this wine. This vintage presents enticing aromatics of fresh blackberries, black cherry and toasty oak nuances. On the palate, complex flavors of raspberry, licorice and allspice give way to intriguing notes of Asian spice and pepper. The wine is dense and complex, but does not burden the palate with too much of any single character - everything is in balance and carries the right amount of finesse. The tannins are silky and smooth with refined notes that please the senses. From start to finish, this wine is a joy to experience and reminds of us of just how good Zinfandel is from the Dry Creek Valley. Blend: 76% Zinfandel, 21% Petite Sirah, 2% Primitivo, 1% Carignane
Claiborne & Churchill Dry Riesling

Claiborne-&-Churchill-Dry-Riesling
One of the advantages to making wine in the Edna Valley is that we benefit from its cool climate and coastal influence. This means we have access to some of the best Riesling grapes in the area. In the case of our Edna Valley Dry Riesling, we’ve sourced the fruit from Talley Vineyards’ highly regarded Oliver’s Vineyard. Following a challenging 2017 harvest (no rain, high humidity, and heat waves ring a bell?), our winemaking team worked hard to bring you a Riesling we can be proud of. Aromatically speaking, this wine offers fresh floral notes, a pinch of baking spice and Riesling’s typical minerality. On the palate we find ripe citrus fruit, lemon peel and crisp apricots, balancing the wine’s bright acidity. We highly recommend that you show off this food-friendly Riesling at the dinner table, pairing it chicken or seafood (especially shellfish). And remember: Dry Riesling also pairs beautifully with vegetarian entrees.
