The 2013 Heritage Vines Zinfandel continues the string of delicious and beautifully balanced versions of this wine. This vintage presents enticing aromatics of fresh blackberries, black cherry and toasty oak nuances. On the palate, complex flavors of raspberry, licorice and allspice give way to intriguing notes of Asian spice and pepper. The wine is dense and complex, but does not burden the palate with too much of any single character - everything is in balance and carries the right amount of finesse. The tannins are silky and smooth with refined notes that please the senses. From start to finish, this wine is a joy to experience and reminds of us of just how good Zinfandel is from the Dry Creek Valley. Blend: 76% Zinfandel, 21% Petite Sirah, 2% Primitivo, 1% Carignane

Claiborne-&-Churchill-Dry-Riesling
One of the advantages to making wine in the Edna Valley is that we benefit from its cool climate and coastal influence. This means we have access to some of the best Riesling grapes in the area. In the case of our Edna Valley Dry Riesling, we’ve sourced the fruit from Talley Vineyards’ highly regarded Oliver’s Vineyard. Following a challenging 2017 harvest (no rain, high humidity, and heat waves ring a bell?), our winemaking team worked hard to bring you a Riesling we can be proud of. Aromatically speaking, this wine offers fresh floral notes, a pinch of baking spice and Riesling’s typical minerality. On the palate we find ripe citrus fruit, lemon peel and crisp apricots, balancing the wine’s bright acidity. We highly recommend that you show off this food-friendly Riesling at the dinner table, pairing it chicken or seafood (especially shellfish). And remember: Dry Riesling also pairs beautifully with vegetarian entrees.

The 2011 Fumé Blanc displays an aromatic symphony that leaves one pondering the truly magical characters of the Sauvignon Blanc varietal. The initial aromas fill the senses with a cacophony of pungent grassy, kaffir lime, citrus, white pepper and classic olive aromas. The palate is framed by refreshing citrus and mineral notes that mingle in wonderful harmony with Meyer lemon, Granny Smith apple and orange zest flavors. The grassy elements repeat on the finish with acidity that is both refreshing and brisk. This incredible new vintage is an ode to our founding and reminds us of how we got our start – a wine that is classically styled and immediately food friendly at an unbelievably fair price.

The 2009 vintage will be remembered as one of the best in the past decade. This Cabernet Sauvignon displays elegant aromas of cherry and red raspberry along with sage and dried flowers. On the palate, the wine is extremely well balanced with silky tannins that carefully weave together the earthy, dusty nuances of this Bordeaux-esque wine. With some airing, the wine flushes out providing even more dimension and depth. The finish lingers with fine tannins that are very elegant and structured.

Dry-Creek-Sauvignon-Blanc
Dry Creek Vineyard was the first winery to plant Sauvignon Blanc in the Dry Creek Valley, and this wine epitomizes our expertise in growing this wonderfully diverse varietal. At first swirl, the 2013 vintage presents effusive aromatics of honeydew melon, cantaloupe and mango. There are also underlying layers of citrus and a sense of depth and vibrancy that make this wine extremely pleasing. On the palate, the wine is invigorating with fresh lemon-lime, kiwi and grapefruit notes. We blend in 9% Sauvignon Musque, a unique clonal selection of Sauvignon Blanc, which adds additional layers of tropical fruit and a fleshy, full-bodied mouthfeel. Simply delicious from start to finish!

Herzog-Single-Vineyard-Dry-Creek-Valley-Cabernet-Sauvignon
Our Single Vineyard collection is inspired by the Herzog family’s ongoing commitment to sourcing and prospecting new vineyards. With innovation and creativity, we are able to explore the intricacies of terroir and the uniqueness of time and place in the vineyard. For us, this is hands-on, artisan winemaking at its best. The Dry Creek Valley appellation lies north of the San Francisco Bay and 20 miles east of the Pacific Ocean. The rocky soil of its ancient hills drain exceptionally well – helping to stress the vines late in the growing season, and concentrate the flavors of Cabernet Sauvignon. This single vineyard displays a rich velvet ruby color with aromas of blackberry, cinnamon and spice. Bold flavors of black raspberry in the finish with silky notes of vanilla.
