Wine in Cote de Beaune

Often considered the most "masculine" Côte de Beaune red, Pommard is a firm, full-bodied wine that is nevertheless exceptionally round and generous, with a fruity depth of character and a bouquet suggestive of raspberries, leather and earth. Pairs well with hare and other small game, beef braised in wine, or strong cheeses such as époisses, livarot and pont l'evêque. This wine can be enjoyed immediately or within 10 years of the vintage.

After three very small vintages what Burgundy urgently needs in 2014 is quantity. Our prayers may have been answered: the 2014 vintage is very promising with good yields! After another year of surprising weather, September lived up to its reputation and played its part to the full in terms of ripening the grapes. In the springtime, the 2014 vintage looked like being an early one and the vines profited from the hot and dry weather, which indicated an abundant harvest and healthy vines. In summer, the sun appeared to have gone on vacation elsewhere, and the advance gained at the start of the cycle was soon lost. However, despite the wet and chilly weather, maturation began to gather pace at the end of August. The Burgundy winegrowing region, like France’s other winegrowing regions, experienced a few pockets of sour rot. The plots of Pinot Noir were subjected to strict sorting, both in the vines and in the winery. This occasional phenomenon was localized in an otherwise very healthy year. The harvest began in mid-September in the sunshine. The grapes brought into the wineries were ripe, healthy and aromatic. 2014 will be an excellent year for white wines in the Burgundy region. Their clear-cut, precise structure promises good keeping potential. Red wines offer intense colors, a fruity nose, and concentration in the mouth, with smooth, pleasant tannins, and lovely notes of fresh fruit. They are wonderfully sophisticated, hinting at all the qualities of great red Burgundy wines.

A brilliant light yellow color. The very pleasant expressive and complex nose opens up with floral and slightly woody notes. Our winemaking is practical and is based on Burgundy practices and tradition. That is to say that there are no great wines without great grapes; thus our focus is on the vineyard and the work necessary to harvest the ripest grapes possible. Each growing season is different and we respect what nature gives; we harvest when the grapes are ready (not when it is convenient for us) and use the grapes indigenous yeasts.We understand that wine is as much a living product and is the vine.

The name Remoissenet for serious collectors stands for refined, classic Burgundy wines. On the nose, there are aromas of apples, citrus, light honey, fresh nuts. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, savory; flavors of lemons, red apple, white peach.

Pale gold colour with emerald tinges. Floral fragrances mixed with grape fruit aromas and fresh honey. Delicate vanilla note.

Subtle citrus and nose. Flinty, mineral flavored. Very dry with lots of acidity.

Based in Nuits-St-Georges, the famous Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 and in more recent times, the domaine has greatly expanded its vineyards across the entire Côte d''Or. The grapes are entirely destemmed and fermented in a mix of new wooden vats for the top end wines and stainless steel for the lesser cuvées. This Pinot noir has a beautiful ruby colour, a beautiful intense red. We can distinguish aromas of red fruits and a few woody notes on the nose. The wine then reveals itself on the palate; spicy and fruity, with delicate smoky and toasty tastes which give it complexity. This is a well-structured wine, which has fine volume accompanied by a certain roundness.
