Wine in Chianti Rufina

This is the first step towards the realization of a dream: to produce “virgin” wines. PURO is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes vinified in stainless steel vats, without the addition of sulfites, yeasts and tannins. The vinification of this wine is a balancing practice. Maintaining the purity of the grapes without using chemicals is not easy, but possible. We are keen and ready to make risks in respect for the health of our consumers. The sulfur as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent is replaced physically and non chemically, such as low storage temperatures, frequent checks of dissolved oxygen and appropriate filtration to keep the wine microbiologically pure. The wine opens to a thick purple color and youthful aromas of freshly pressed blackberry and black cherry. In the mouth it is soft, as sweet almond marzipan plays up the rear, chewy with a good mineral finish. The style reminds of a novello, but with the difference that PURO is totally natural, for this it is an easy drinking and immediatelly approachable wine, that matches perfectly any food, from starters to dessert (chocolate).

Fescobaldi's uniqueness stems precisely from the representation of this diversity, from its eight estates and from wines which express a kaleidoscope of aromas and sensations, springing from the characteristics of each individual terroir. The Castiglioni estate has been a defining symbol of the Frescobaldi family’s wine-growing tradition since 1300. Production of Tuscan wines, enjoyed by both the papal court and English court of Henry VIII in the 16th century, began here. Nipozzano Riserva is the emblematic wine of Castello Nipozzano, the historic Frescobaldi estate located a few miles north-east of Florence, Nipozzano Riserva is symbolic of the Tuscan wine-making tradition and the continuing link with the terroir. Nipozzano Riserva boasts the characteristics of strength and finesse. Its intense ruby red colour gives it a bold and elegant character. Red berries and notes of ripe citrus fruit give way to a delicately fruity nose, followed by elegant notes of violet. This is all completed with a slight spiciness. The palate expresses itself with an intriguing, harmonious complexity. Nipozzano is dense and persistent.

Deep ruby/garnet red color. Concentrated nose, showing plum and berry character. On the palate full and round, with soft tannins and a long fruity, peppery finish. Paolo is a modern style winemaker, and his wines always have good dark colors, and elegant aromas.

All estate fruit - 95% Sangiovese + 5% Colorino. Fermentation takes place with maceration on the skins for about 20 days, followed by 8 months of barrel aging in French oak. The wine has a deep ruby red color and intense bouquet of black cherry and violet aromas and flavors. It is full and round on the palate with excellent tannic structure and a round harmonious finish.

"Black cherry, spice, tobacco and earth flavors prevail in this dense red. The tannins verge on being gritty in texture, yet there's adequate acidity to keep this fresh."

A Sangiovese that is crisp, fresh, and laden with energy. A sparkling ruby announces ultra-fruity aromas, with generous notes of strawberry and blackberry, plus a delicious, emphatic vein of coffe and licorice. Smooth and full-flavoured in the mouth, it concludes dry and clean at the end of the palate.

Sangiovese (with a small amount of Canaiolo) is vinified in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks at a fermentation temperature of 28° C. It then spends time in steel tanks (30%), Sessile oak casks (50%) and barriques (20%). After blending, the wine is refined in French oak casks for two to three months.
