Masi-Contasera-Amarone
Proud, majestic, complex and exuberant: this is Masi's gentle giant. A benchmark for the Amarone category, which, together with Barolo and Brunello, makes up the aristocracy of the Italian wine world. The product of Masi's unrivalled expertise in the appassimento technique, whereby traditional grapes for the Valpolicella Classica area - Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara - are laid out on bamboo racks to concentrate their aromas during the winter months.

Located in Valgatara, in the depths of Valpolicella Classico, sits the family-run Luigi Righetti estate. Since 1909, when Angelo Righetti first earned a reputation as an outstanding winemaker, the family has focused on producing quality wines of distinction. Gianmaria and Giuseppe are the fourth generation of the Righetti family to carry on the family winemaking tradition. Gianmaria and Giuseppe’s father, Luigi, who is still active in the estate’s day-to-day operations, was the first in the family to consider production for consumers beyond the local market. Gian Maria has gone a step further by crafting wines with a more international flair. The land, rich in chalky clay, and the sun are key elements that encourage the accumulation of sugar and flavor within. The grapes are picked in bunches during the month of September, and placed on mats to dry until January, February. The wine is then placed in steel basins until July or August. It is then aged for 3 years, partly in oak barrels and partly in French barriques. Capitel de Roari is a premium Amarone, coming from the best grape selection, and receiving delicate oak treatment. This is a well-balanced Amarone that still exhibits much of the dark fruit flavors, earth and meaty components expected of Valpolicella. This wine complements steak or pork roasts, hearty pastas and seasonal cheeses. Enjoy!

Nicolis-Amarone-della-Valpolicella-Classico
Deep dark ruby red which gradually turns into carnet. Powerful and aristocratic nose of ripe fruit, jam, sensations of cocoa, walnut, tobacco and leather. Elegant and powerful wine with a distinct spicy bouquet and with unique flavours. It shows an impressive balance between volume and smoothness, warmth and crispness, austerity and richness.
