Ornellaia-Bolgheri
The desire to nurture the Estate’s exceptional qualities has shaped Ornellaia’s philosophy since the beginning. Ornellaia is a cuvée of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot and the faithful expression of unique terroir developed in harmony with nature. “Ornellaia 2017 masterfully interprets what was a particularly warm and sunny year. The intense and dark colour heralds a wine of beautiful concentration; the nose, rich and complex, releases scents of ripe red fruits, accompanied by notes of sweet tobacco and vanilla. The taste reveals an Ornellaia of great balance, a combination of firmness and pleasant freshness.”

FRESCOBALDI - CULTIVATING TOSCANA DIVERSITY The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany. Creativity and the pursuit of excellence were handed down through the centuries to all the generations of the family. Frescobaldi's aim is for the family estates, with their vineyards, to be the expression of this diversity and the wines to reflect each other each individual terroir, respecting nature and atuthenticity. The richness of Tuscany lies in its diversity, in the union between north and south, mountains and sea, cities and countryside, to which men and women dedicate their live's work. Frescobaldi embodies the essence of Tuscany, its extraordinary vocation for viticulture and the diversity of its territories. Fescobaldi's uniqueness stems precisely from the representation of this diversity, from its eight estates and from wines which express a kaleidoscope of aromas and sensations, springing from the characteristics of each individual terroir. The Castiglioni estate has been a defining symbol of the Frescobaldi family’s wine-growing tradition since 1300. Production of Tuscan wines, enjoyed by both the papal court and English court of Henry VIII in the 16th century, began here. Tenuta Frescobaldi Castiglioni boasts a beautifully deep and intense ruby-red colour with tinges of purple. Its bouquet is marvellous in its complexity. The fruity attack, with notes reminiscent of blackberry and sour cherries, gives way to elegant vanilla-like notes with light hints of tobacco and white pepper. It is warm, soft and round on the palate, with fruity notes that reverberate and a delicately spiced, elegantly fresh finish. The tannins are fine yet intense.

Nine historical varieties: Mammolo, Ciliegiolo, Pugnitello, Colorino, Sanforte, Malvasia Nera, Canaiolo, Foglia Tonda, Sangiovese. Each variety is vinified and aged separately in small barrels in the winery set in the heart of the vineyards before being blended. WINE DESCRIPTION This is a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, produced in the clayish, calcareous soil of the winery, thus providing a wine rich in fruity aromas and a smooth elegant structure. The name Poderuccio refers to an old small farm located inside the estate. TASTING NOTES Deep red color with ruby highlights. On the nose it shows very pleasant fruity notes of cherry and black berries, with a fresh balsamic sensation. A wine with a nice structure, a good balance between smoothness and freshness, a nice minerality, well integrated tannins and a long fruity finish.
