A dark and deep colour with wild berries, warm leather, and jasmine notes on the nose. There are also subtle notes of vanilla and dark chocolate. The palate is deep and powerful with blackberry nuances and a long intense finish.

A tremendously deep and intense color which is quite unheard of for a Sangiovese. A full bouquet of red fruits, plums, cherries and ripe blackberries is well balanced with hints of vanilla from the tannins. The wine opens on the palate with pleasant notes of licorice, tobacco and black olives. The tannins are thick and silky, extremely rich but not overpowering. The wine is full bodied and well structured, with excellent fruit concentration and length. A great wine that should only improve with age.

This is a very innovative product, a young "Super-Tuscan", whose characteristics are never found together in the same wine. The Chianti region of Tuscany extends from the city of Siena in the south to Florence in the north. Between those two cities, vines of Sangiovese grow on high hills where the intense summer heat is kept in check by the cool mountain air. Harvest occurs when the grapes are fully ripe and ready to produce a wine with body, freshness and classic aromas of red cherries, leather and spice. Expressive aromas of dried cherries and fresh flowers along with a mild fragrance of vanilla, leather and sweet spice. The wine showcases a texture that balances the naturally high acidity of Sangiovese with its ripe red fruit flavors and firm tannins.

The blend, albeit varying slightly depending on vintage conditions, is 85% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Merlot. The best selections are blended and aged 1 year in oak (80% in Slavonian barrels, 20% in barrique) and at least 6 months in the bottle, achieving a graceful balance of voluptuous berry tones and flexible yet sturdy backbone. Dark ruby in color, its bouquet of leather, earth, herbs, black cherries, licorice and plums is confirmed on the medium to full-bodied palate – round, spicy, elegant, attractively fruity and extremely versatile with any fare from pasta or risotto, to meat, fowl and cheese.

The wine offers a brilliant ruby red color. As time passes, the hue is enriched with garnet tones that, as the years go by, lighten further toward orange with an ochre tint typical of Tuscan wines. The aroma is satisfyingly intense, fine and elegant, with light scents of ripe fruits and violets. As it evolves, the wine develops an appealing bouquet that is full and complex. It possesses a pleasant fullness and an outstanding balance of body and structure. Somewhat austere in its youth, the wine softens with age, becoming velvety and developing prolonged and appealing aromatic persistence.

This Sangiovese exhibits a fresh bouquet of violets, woodland berries, spices and leather. Deliciously smooth, plush and juicy on the palate with loads of ripe fruit. Di Majo Sangiovese is recommended with pasta, pizza, sausages, parmigiana and grilled meats. It's also ideal with hors d'oeuvres and cheeses.

METHOD OF PRODUCTION The selected grapes are vinified in Horizon hybrid stainless steel & wood tanks, with an average maceration of 7-10 days. After an aging period of 10-12 months, partially in barriques and partially in large oak barrels, followed by an additional 6 months in bottle before release. THE WINEMAKER COMMENT A super-classic of Montalcino and Banfi. A wine able to match the elegance and solidity of its elder counterpart with a freshness and directness that make it one of the most versitile wines within Banfi’s offer. This is the first step towards the realization of a dream: to produce “virgin” wines. PURO is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes vinified in stainless steel vats, without the addition of sulfites, yeasts and tannins. The vinification of this wine is a balancing practice. Maintaining the purity of the grapes without using chemicals is not easy, but possible. We are keen and ready to make risks in respect for the health of our consumers. The sulfur as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent is replaced physically and non chemically, such as low storage temperatures, frequent checks of dissolved oxygen and appropriate filtration to keep the wine microbiologically pure. The wine opens to a thick purple color and youthful aromas of freshly pressed blackberry and black cherry. In the mouth it is soft, as sweet almond marzipan plays up the rear, chewy with a good mineral finish. The style reminds of a novello, but with the difference that PURO is totally natural, for this it is an easy drinking and immediatelly approachable wine, that matches perfectly any food, from starters to dessert (chocolate).

Pecchia is grown in Gagliole's best vineyards in Panzano in Chianti, planted at an elevation of 500 metres on the northwest ridge of the Conca d’Oro. Le Papesse di Papiano" is one of the great classics made every year by the Villa Papiano farm. It is a blend where the Sangiovese is the absolute protagonist, to which is added a very small percentage of balsamina, a native vine recovered from the cellar in a project that aims to enhance the territory. A Romagna Sangiovese Superiore DOC with fruity flavors, characterized by a good drink, smooth and satisfying. The grapes, carefully harvested during the harvest period, ferment in steel at a controlled temperature, macerating on the skins for a variable period, included between 18 and 24 days. Then follows the refinement, always carried out in steel for 6 months. At the end of this production process we obtain a label of excellent workmanship, which deserves more than a taste.
