Since its inception, Claret has been the crown jewel of the Diamond Collection. Crafted as a Bordeaux-style blend, this wine reflects a diversity of vineyards whose soils contribute to the wine's complexity. It is distinguished with gold netting. A tribute to the way Europe's finest wines were once presented. it is memorably lush with a tapestry of smooth tannins and succulent flavors of wild berries, plum and anise.

Deep plum, purple color. Gorgeous perfume on the nose of earthy, tobacco, plum, black cherry and floral notes. Full-bodied, with racy, intense acidity and tannins. Powerful and layered, with a subtle fruit and long finish.

Jean de Pontac began constituting the Haut-Brion vineyard, in the Graves region, in 1525. His descendants went on to produce “New French Claret”, the precursor of today’s great red wines. Their efforts enabled Arnaud III de Pontac to sell his wine under the estate’s name as early as 1660. It gained a fine reputation and enormous success in London. The first of the Bordeaux great growths was born! Haut-Brion’s history has been marked by many famous men: Count Joseph de Fumel (Field Marshal, Governor of the Province of Guyenne, and Mayor of Bordeaux), Talleyrand (Foreign Minister of Napoleon I, Emperor of France) and, more recently, C. Douglas Dillon (American ambassador to France and US Secretary of the Treasury during the Kennedy administration). In 1961, Haut-Brion was the first of the great growths to use stainless steel fermentation vats, and continues to be in the forefront of innovation thanks to the meticulous selection of the ideal clones for each grape variety used at the estate. Through the centuries, the owners and managers of Haut-Brion have been obsessed with perpetuating the château’s reputation for quality. Classified a First Growth in 1855, Haut-Brion has done everything possible ever since then to maintain its standing.

This red wine was produced by Chateau Latour and is from Bordeaux, Pauillac in France. The volume is 0,75L.

Expressive fruit aromas and wood perfumes announce this wine. With 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a complex wine marked by purity of black fruits, berries, toast and tannins. It has power, richness and a lovely edge of spice to go with the acidity. The wine is firmly structured, while bursting with fruit and freshness.

This well-known Bordeaux Superieur, which has a fabulous reputation for aging 20-30 years in certain vintages, comes from proprietor Xavier Milhad. The 2012, a blend of 78% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, has a dense ruby/plum color and attractive, juicy blackcurrant fruit. Supple, round and generous, this is an over-achiever and a sleeper of the vintage. Drink it over the next 5-10 years, although I wouldn’t be surprised if it lasts longer, given the fact that I’ve had the 1953 and 1955 in the last five years and both were still in great shape.

Lovely, brilliant, golden-yellow color. Concentrated nose of apricot compote, dried fruit, and figs with vanilla and floral (jasmine and acacia blossom) aromas. The bouquet opens up after swirling in the glass to reveal extremely fresh citrus zest overtones that emphasize the wine's subtle refinement.

The meticulously tended vineyards of Bordeaux flank the Gironde Estuary which empties into the sea along France’s Atlantic coast. This is the home of some of the world’s most renown red grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. For centuries the blending of these varieties has evolved into a skilled art form where both man and nature play a part in the creation in elegant, full bodied wines with spicy dark fruit aromas and a rich, silky texture. Clove and dried fruits on the nose. Blackcurrant with notes of cherry lead way to toasty smoky layers that last. Pair with roast lamb with garlic and rosemary or a spread of hard sheep cheeses.

This blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc is fruit-driven, exhibiting a deep plum and ruby hue with heady aromas of black currant, black cherry, licorice, and graphite. The Chateau Laplagnotte Bellevue Bordeaux shows a medium body with soft, silky tannins, and consumer-friendly appeal.

On palate, it shows smooth and succulent on forward fruit, especially cherry and bilberry. Fine tannic structure, delicate oak notes on the finish along with notes of spice, such as cinnamon and white pepper, and roasted coffeebean.

This is a French blend of Cabernet, Merlot, and Petite Verdot. This was a soft and young Bordeaux with firm tannins and a robust backbone. Choke cherries, crab apples, blueberries, and mulberries made this come alive. Have this with a sour cream crab dip, pasta puttanesca, or bruschetta.

The 2013 Secret Squirrel is a Bordeaux style blend that is exceedingly delicious at this juncture. This Cabernet Sauvignon dominant wine is a second label from the exquisite Corliss estates and the same high quality meticulous winemaking is evident in the results. Possessing an inky dark color, this Cabernet opens with aromas of stewed cherries and blackberries with hints of coffee and sage. The mouthfeel is rich, currently displaying a masculine flavor profile yielding dense flavors of black currants, raspberries and cocoa through the finish

Bright nose of red and dark fruits; soft, well-rounded texture on the palate with a touch of Bordeaux “grip.” Fresh and satisfying finish. Outstanding value in an everyday Bordeaux.

2017 Red Blend

In addition to our always impressive old vine block of Merlot, we were particularly impressed with the quality of our Cabernet Franc in 2015. In this fully ripe vintage it adds a gravelly minerality to Merlot’s ample fruit. The supple wine is both intense and graceful with an opulent purple color. It swirls with rich aromas and flavors of dense jammy red fruit mixed with blackberry. Those meld with nutmeg, clove, black pepper and insinuations of vanilla bean. The refined, velvety tannins create a succulent mouthfeel with some hints of toast and smoky, sweet oak to the long, luxurious finish. This wine will be charming and fruity in its youth but will surely improve in the cellar.
