For over 150 years, Campari has been a favorite liqueur for drinkers with different tastes. The liquid is a dark red color and is often mixed with other alcohols and non-alcoholic drinks for cocktails. The drink was created in 1860. Depending on where the Campari is sold, the alcohol content ranges from 20.5 percent to 28 percent. When you smell Campari, you'll be reminded of pomegranate, strawberry, spicy herbs, bitter orange and cherry. The flavor starts off sweet and is followed by an herbal, spicy taste. After that, the bitterness of the drink starts to build. This is a wholly unique drink. The recipe and creation process of Campari is still a secret to this day. Depending on your source, even the number of ingredients changes (ranging from 20 to 80). However, there are a few ingredients that are known. Campari includes fruits in water and alcohol as well as an infusion of herbs. The most common ways to drink Campari are in cocktails, with prosecco or with soda water. While you can drink it neat, many have trouble with the bitter taste. Because of this, many of the mixed drinks that use Campari are strong flavored as well. The most well-known drink using Campari is a Negroni. A Negroni can be served either straight up or on the rocks. All you need for this classic mixed drink is one ounce of dry gin, one ounce of Campari and one ounce of sweet vermouth. Mix these three together either in a mixing glass with ice or mix them right in the glass with some ice. Another great Campari-based mixed drink is the Jasmine. In a cocktail shaker, combine one-and-a-half ounces of gin, three-quarters of an ounce of fresh-squeezed lemon juice, a quarter ounce of Campari and a quarter ounce of Cointreau. Fill the shaker with ice and shake for about 10 seconds. Strain your drink into a cocktail glass. Don't forget to add a lemon twist garnish for the perfect bold drink. Buy Campari online through and have it delivered directly to your door or pick it up in store.

When Luxardo marasca cherries are harvested at the beginning of every summer, they are put in alcoholic infusion in larch-wood vats together with some leaves and branches of the same trees for up to three years. When ready, both the liquid and the solid parts are distilled in traditional copper pot stills, separating the heart from heads and tails. Only the heart of the distillate is then allowed to mature in ash-wood vats. The last process consists in transforming the distillate in liqueur by adding a simple syrup of water and sugar lowering the ABV to 32%. Crystal clear in colour, the aroma is typical of marasca cherry distillate with strong alcohol spirit and roasted nuttiness, while the taste results smooth but sharp at the same time with hints of dark chocolate, vanilla and orange marmalade. The tall green bottle with its red cap is still hand-plaited in straw within the company, and resembles the Maraschino bottles produced in Zara in the early days, where the straw was placed in order to prevent damage during transportation. Luxardo Maraschino Originale can be enjoyed in many classic cocktails or neat as an after dinner drink. It is also ideal over fruits such as strawberries, pineapples, oranges etc. or as a flavor in confectionary and ice creams.

Select-Aperitivo
Uniqueness, legacy, taste: in no other city in the world are these concepts as valuable as in Venice. And it is no coincidence that the story of Select Aperitivo began right here, in the district of Castello, the historical heart of this intriguing city. The year was 1920 and Venice was in deep turmoil following World War I. The young Pilla brothers, with their distillery and expertise in the art of making liquors, seized this unique moment and used it to their advantage. Venice was at a turning point: people were just beginning to venture out again and rediscover life’s pleasures. The act of enjoying an aperitif with friends spread throughout the city and Select Aperitivo assumed the starring role in this new cocktail scene. Almost a century has passed, but today, Select Aperitivo is still known as the true icon of the Venetian aperitif: a unique bitter that is served at the iconic bars in the Lagoon and by bartenders around the world, eager to offer something unique and special.

In 1815 in Milano, the first Italian bitter was created by Ausano Ramazzotti, who had the brilliant idea to blend gentian, cinchona, rhubarb, cinnamon, oregano, sweet, orange from Sicily, and bitter orange from Curaçao , among other ingredients, for a tonic and strengthening drink. Ramazzotti is a traditional digestive meant to calm the stomach and aid in digestion, but is wonderfully versatile, and can also be used as an aperitif when mixed with club soda or ginger ale, served on the rocks or in a variety of cocktails. With its balance of bitter and sweet, it adds intrigue to a specialty drink list.. Ramazzotti undertakes a 360 degree sustainable production, from reduction of bottle weight and fair trade sourcing of its spices, to recyclable materials for its packs and exclusively green energy sources in production.
