The Arechabala Family started their rum-making business in 1878 in Cuba. They first registered the Havana Club trademark in 1934. The aged rums are then blended together and aged for a second period in oak barrels for at least 2 months. The result, a medium-bodied aged white rum with notes and hints of pineapple, banana, vanilla and oak.

We ferment raw cane syrup and blackstrap molasses with a rhum agricole yeast strain and a chenin blanc yeast strain to develop a rich tropical fruit character. Two distillations on our hybrid pot // column still take our spirit up to approximately 180 proof. This is an unaged White Rum from the Worthy Park Estate, Jamaica. Due to a three month fermentation period this rum is rich in congeners. It is distilled on Worthy Park’s Forsyth Pot Still.

Like the label says this is white overproof rum. Known for its high ester pot still rum, this is the first rum from Hampden to be bottled in Jamaica for the local market.
