An American style unfiltered Wheat Ale. An effervescent and light ale, it is a refreshing summer afternoon thirst quencher. Wheat beer’s history goes back to the Pharaohs of Egypt. By the 16th century it was popular in Germany where it is usually served quite cold, and with a slice of lemon. American Wheat Beer, which can be traced to the colonial brewer’s need to stretch scarce European imported malt with adjuncts like wheat, has a less fruity, more balanced taste and finish than its German relative, the result of American hops and yeast.

Hardywood Gingerbread Stout, described by BeerAdvocate as “freagin’ Christmas in a bottle,” is an imperial milk stout brewed with vanilla beans, cinnamon, fresh Casselmonte Farm baby ginger and Bearer Farms wildflower honey. Gingerbread Stout is then matured in Virginia bourbon barrels, where it adapts an incredibly mellow character with oak, caramel and bourbon undertones, and emerges 12 weeks later as Bourbon GBS. A festive blend of spice character laces this rich, chocolatey stout, which warms the palate and the soul.

If you’ve ever stopped by to visit us in the Virginia heartland, you may have met our fearless leader Hayes (he was that guy wearing his famous madras blazer and a fedora while drinking a DB beer and letting out a boisterous belly laugh). Well, he’s a brand new dad these days and to celebrate we had to brew him a beer! This hazy IPA is low on bitterness with tropical aromas and notes of pineapple, guava, and papaya. Just like Hayes, we left this one unfiltered. Cheers to all the dads out there who we can always count on to be the life of the party!
