Shipping out of Boston is our take on a German-Style Export Lager. Export Lagers were originally brewed stronger than other pale lagers to endure lengthy travel times. This kellerbier is brewed with a blend of German specialty malts for a deeply golden lager with an intense sweet biscuit flavor. Like the rest of the beers in our Keller Series, Shipping Out of Boston is left unfiltered.

Our flagship lager, pronounced ‘tzv-ick-el’, is an unfiltered, unpasteurized German classic that finishes as a smooth-drinking, vitamin rich (from the yeast), naturally cloudy bier.

This Marzen style Keller lager was brewed with our buds at KCBC in Brooklyn under a full moon. A “Vollmondbier,” literally a full moon beer, brewed in honor of the pagan tradition. Luna Lupulus is brewed with New York-grown malt and hops, packing a rich, full flavor into this unique collaboration.

Munich Kellerbier Anno 1417 shines with a seductive golden honey color. A beer with a distinctive character: earthy, bold, quaffable and yet refreshingly mild and light. Just like a real Bavarian. Creamy and effervescent, typical of unfiltered beers, a delightful ticklish mouthfeel. Aromas of caramel, honey and plum dominate and emphasize the beer’s malty, spicy flavor. Unmistakable hints of apple and grapefruit bring in a fruity freshness.

Unfiltered German Lager

The sixth of 7 beers celebrating a literary classic, and one of our favorites, Leaves of Grass, by Walt Whitman. This is our take on a German-style Kellerbier. Rustic grains, including pilsen malt and maize, offer classic bready notes and a light haze. Herbal, noble hops and tangy rye malt add a light spiciness.

Franconian Kraft is a kellerbier style from the region of Franconia in Bavaria. This kellerbier utilizes floor malted specialty malts from Germany, and is hopped with a noble hop, Perle. Franconian Kraft was decoction mashed and open-fermented to express the ingredients unique qualities in this recipe. It is a rustic, amber, and malty interpretation of a classic country lager. Like the rest of our Kellerbier Series, Franconian Kraft is left unfiltered.

Let's start off stating this is not a North East Pilsner. Inspired by hop flavors pushed during conditioning and yeast esters of young lagers. Often beer can condition for 4-6 weeks in our horizontal conditioning tanks. They may not be for all when sampled earlier. Imagine standing around the tank sampling fermenting beer in all its glory.... you know on one of those brewery tours. Oh how the elders pour in with Washington beer passports in hand. Talking and reminiscing of brewers that actually made lager. Building the beer to be a fountain of youth it was treated to create a soft and rounded water profile. We feel this is everything we dreamed of but nothing you expect. This beer style is trending to be a "splash" hit, we feel tremendous and are ready to take on the world.

After we both brought home some bling from the Great American Beer Fest last year we decided we should make some beer with our Bros from Highland Park Brewery. We added some West Coast steez to a traditional Kellerbier and the results are pure L.A. Gold!

Brewed in collaboration with Armand Debelder and Frank Boon at De Proef, essentially a recreating of the original Bohemian Pilsener.

Paper Planes is a dry hopped Kellerbier brewed with our friends at Flying Machine Brewing Co. (Wilmington, NC). Combining traditions from lager and ale brewing, this beer balances sweet grain character with delicate hop aromas of citrus pith and red currant. Keep cold and enjoy fresh!

Modern Hell is a traditional edelstoff style lager that is part of our Kellerbier Series. Brewed with noble hops and specialty grain, golden in color, unfiltered, and full-bodied, this 5.9% ABV special lager is malt forward and limited in availability.

Enchanting. Ethereal. Fleeting. Is that a woman in the distance, or are your eyes playing tricks on you? Luchesa Lager is brewed in the traditional German Kellerbier style, where subtle malt notes marry with assertive Hallertau and Saaz hops. Like a mirage, your empty glass will leave you wondering: “Was she ever really there?”

Brewed with local danko rye malt, this traditional German kellerbier is malty, sweet, and subtly spicy. Private Rye has a medium, bready body that is balanced with a light bitter finish. Like all of our kellerbiers, it is left unfiltered.

Heavy Trommel is our take on a German-style porter. This kellerbier is brewed with a significant amount of dark malt, making it roasty and full bodied. Like the rest of the beers in our keller series, Heavy Trommel is left unfiltered.

It pours with a big, creamy, long-lasting, head; has a golden-bronze color; a wonderfully fresh, perfumy; hop aroma; a remarkably smooth, almost oily, malty, palate; very fresh flavours; and a spritzy finish. It is beautifully balanced, but leans to the dry side. This is a delicious, appetising beer and a true taste of Germany’s fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.
