Chenin Blanc Brilliant clear yellow. Seductive nose with lovely fruit aromas (pear, pineapple) and delicate floral notes. Smooth on the palate with a nice refreshing finish. To be enjoyed as an aperitif or with smoked fish, Asian dishes, creamy cheese. Best served between 8°C and 10°C / 46°F and 50°F. Vegan friendly.

Wines from the Vouvray region have been on French kings’ tables since the 14th century. The wine is made up of 100% Chenin Blanc; Vouvray wine is steely and vivacious when young and ages magnificently for decades because of its dynamic balance between acidity and sweetness.

Chateau de Montfort Vouvray is an elegant, fine wine characterized by brilliant fruit aromas and excellent structure. Aromas of Granny Smith apples and Anjou pear dominate, with a hint of wet stone minerality. The initial fruit sweetness is perfectly complimented by a true zing of bracing acidity and minerality. The finish is long and satisfying, and the overall impression is of a tremendously refreshing wine.

Nut and toast aromas lead to a smooth palate, with creamed apple and delicate orange zest flavors. Behind the crisp acidity, there is a mature feel, giving roundness to the delicious aftertaste.

This beautifully balanced white from France's Loire Valley is harmonious and delicately sweet, with flavors of green apple underscored by honey nuances. Round and refreshing, with lime, almond and hints of spice on the finish. This wine is delicious with fruit salad, spicy cuisine, including Thai. Golden yellow. Ripe fruity bouquet (quince, apricot) with overtones of nuts (almond) and acacia flower. Well balanced on the palate, soft with a slightly crisp finish.

The Vouvray wines are exclusively made from the chenin blanc grape also called pineau de la loire. The chenin blanc grape provides fruity and floral aromas with honey flavour and a nice refreshing acidity to wines.

Chenin Blanc is a versatile white-wine grape variety that has been cultivated in France for nearly 1300 years. It is most commonly associated with France's Loire Valley, and its high acidity levels mean it can be vinified in a number of different styles: as lusciously sweet, botrytis-affected dessert wines, light, honeyed sparkling wines and as full-bodied, still white wines.

Among Americans, the Loire Valley is most often associated with gardens and castles and not much else. We journey the 150 kilometers southwest from Paris and take a day or two visiting Chateau de Chambord and Chenonceau, all the while enjoying the delightful flora and thinking of bygone days when princes and noblemen still roamed the cavernous halls in this ancient land. But the French know better. They know what we foreigners are just beginning to discover—that some of the most interesting, delicious, and affordable wines in the world hail from the chalky soil on which those famous castles stand.

This Brut Cuvee “T” 2014 from Domaine Vincent Careme was made using the traditional sparkling wine method with a second fermentation in the bottle. Fresh and delicious, it’s a perfect wine for summer sipping. Notes of citrus and apple are prevalent and the wine is effervescent and fresh with what the winery’s owners, Vincent and Tania, call “racy” acidity.
