Fresh and vibrant, Smoke Tree Rosé is a dry & fruity rose from Northern California. The 2019 vintage centers around 15-25-year-old Grenache from Redwood Valley Mendocino and Lake County, with the introduction of Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel from Mendocino County. Smaller percentages of Grenache, Malbec, and Pinot Noir from Clarksburg complete the blend. All Smoke Tree’s vineyard partners are certified sustainable.

This is a fresh interpretation of classic California winemaking--farmed here on the estate in rich Huichica loam, composed over time by volcanic, rhyolitic ash from the nearby Mayacamas range. After a series of trials and experiments in our early years, we eventually decided to age all of our Chardonnay in Sonoma-made concrete tanks, allowed to rest on its heavy lees as long as possible without any oak barrel contact. It all adds up to a powerful, mineral white wine, full of earth tones that expresses our distinctive geological history.

A pure, varietal Merlot from Sonoma's Petricka and Sangiacomo vineyards aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. The wood tannins add spice and a firm frame for the ripe blackberry and cherry fruit. Hints of licorice, fresh-roasted coffee and dark chocolate add complexity on the nose and palate.

The Zinfandel Stonewall Block has a deep garnet-purple color and nose of baked plums, blackberries and black cherry cordial with hints of licorice, balsamic and hoisin. The palate reveals a big Bertha of a wine with a full-on full body and tons of ripe black berry preserves fruit supported by velvety tannins and finishing with a wall of spice.

Bright fruit aromas of citrus, apple, pear and white peach along with hints of brioche and baking spice followed up with a subtle floral note. The flavors are crisp and steely with juicy citrus fruit finishing with flint and mineral

Our Rosé is a blend of Aleatico and Syrah. Aleatico is a lively, floral Italian varietal that gives this Rosé distinct rose petal and jasmine aromas, with berry fruits and watermelon on the palate. This dry, fruit forward wine is refreshing on its own, but also pairs nicely with summer salads, seafood and rich cheeses.

2013 Overlook Chardonnay Every year the Overlook Chardonnay is an artfully selected blend of grapes from the finest vineyards in California. TASTING NOTES The 2013 Overlook® Chardonnay has a bright, medium gold color with complex aromas of ripe pear, meyer lemon, sage and lemon curd. On the palate flavors of quince, pear blossom, apricot, and pie crust are balanced by lively citrus notes completing this refreshing wine. Drink now, but will continue to develop for 2-3 years. FOOD PAIRINGS The 2013 Overlook Chardonnay pairs well with grilled salmon, roasted poultry dishes, sashimi, lighter meat dishes such as seared pork tenderloin and quinoa salad with seasonal vegetables.
