Varieties: 40% Macabeu, 30% Xarel-lo 30% Garnatxa, 10% Malvasia Owned by the Suriol family, Cellers de Can Suriol del Castell is known for making wines and vintage Cava with personality in the organic winemaking tradition. They make wines under the Suriol brand which are all estate bottled fruit and then they make the Azimut line from purchased grapes from their neighbors, all of whom work organically. The Can Suriol vineyards and winery are situated in Alt Penedes, Province of Barcelona, Catalunya. This region is justifiably famous for producing fine wines and cava. The cultivation of the Can Suriol vineyards is done by 100% organic methods as certified by the CCPAE (until 2007 NOP certification).

Els Vinyerons was created by Alex and Amós as a result of their friendship and motivation to produce still wines from Penedes, made with very limited intervention. With this aim, they started a deep and long process to select vineyards that had the potential to communicate through the fruit the essence of their terroir. They both agree that there is no other option than to produce natural wines with local varieties. They only use indigenous yeasts, no enological products, thus working with the philosophy that wines are first and foremost made in the vineyards. Saltamartí (grasshopper) is named after the grasshoppers, important part of the ecosystem in Penedes. Saltamarti is a unique blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. It is an expressive red wine with fresh aromas of red fruits (red cherry, red plum), black fruits (black berry, bramble), with delicate herbal notes (fennel, lavender, dill) and fine grained tannins. It is a wine that shows great complexity as it opens up (decanting recomanded). Unfined, unfiltered, no added sulfite.

The brilliant 2009 Brut Reserva Rose sparkling wine was made from an intriguing blend of 60% Monastrell (Mourvedre), 20% Garnacha (Grenache) and 20% Pinot Noir, and was aged 18 months in bottle prior to being released. The fermentation was done in bottle, which is called Methode Champenoise. Fresh strawberry, cherry and blueberry-like aromas jump from the glass of this rose. It possesses impressive purity, effervescence, tiny, well-formed bubbles, good body, a slight austerity, and a dry, surprisingly intense style.
