"The history and roots of the winery go back 70 years, when Vassilis Lafazanis started making wine in Piraeus. Some decades later, in 1960, the Lafazanis family built its first family-owned winery in Magoula, Attica, and turned it into an S.A. company. In 1993, Spyros Lafazanis, who had grown up steeped into the secrets behind the art of winemaking, decided to move the winery to Nemea, an area which he had grown to love at the beginning of his career as a young oenologist. Our Nemea winery is a state-of-the-art plant with a production capacity of approximately 4 million liters annually. Old Monolithos is the traditional expression of the most planted red grape of Greece, the indigenous Agiorgitiko, from high altitude and low intervention grapes, from a single vineyard with old vines, and aged in new oak. Ruby red color, mature red fruits, truffle, cherries, and chocolate on the nose, with a medium body and acidity, velvety tannins, and a long aftertaste.

Mavrodaphne of Patras is one of the most famous and tasteful Greek wines. It is a red sweet wine, produced from grapes grown in the northwestern region of Achaia. Characteristic of this variety is that the longer it ages the more its merits emerge. Served in the 16C - 18C it accompanies spicy cheeses, fruits and sweets.

This deep ruby wine bursts with intense aromas of red fruits, marmalade, and sweet aging. A well structured wine with velvet taste, accompanied by flavors of chocolate, honey, and nuts, this wine pairs well with red meat dishes and sweet sauces.
