Mount-Veeder-Cabernet-Sauvignon
Mount Veeder Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a distinctively rich Napa Valley red wine made with intense, concentrated, mountain grown grapes. Each bottle of wine delivers vibrant berry and dark chocolate flavors blended with black peppercorn to create a complex and full palate. The velvety structure of this wine delivers a smooth and seamless finish of cassis, blackberry pie and rosemary. Aromas of deep cherry, plum and vanilla intertwine with beautiful hints of anise and caramel. This cabernet sauvignon is a unique combination of cabernet sauvignon, merlot, petit verdot, malbec and cabernet franc grapes grown in the Napa Valley, California wine region. Artisanal winemaking skills, beginning with gentle handling in the vineyard and finishing with extended barrel aging, ensure the wine is enjoyable upon release yet capable of graceful aging. Enjoy a glass with steak, pork or fresh salad. Store this wine at room temperature, then refrigerate for about 30 to 60 minutes before pouring for best taste. Please enjoy our wines responsibly. © 2020 Mount Veeder Winery, Oakville, CA

Brandlin-Estate-Cabernet-Sauvignon
Our 2012 is overflowing with boysenberry, black cherry and dark, plummy fruit. The excellent growing season and slow ripening we inevitably enjoy on this mountaintop estate tends to really focus and concentrate the flavors in our Cabernet Sauvignon. Along with the rich fruit profile we find plenty of aromatic intrigue, with playful notes of olive and sage as well as coffee, cocoa and hints of mocha. The 2012 offering is 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. Complex and plush the wine finishes with long, silky tannins that are round and persistent on the finish. Enjoy now, or lay down for long cellaring as this wine should drink well over the next 10 to 20 years. – Steven Rogstad, Winemaker

The Malbec for this red wine is grown on the steepest slopes at the estate Mt. Brave Vineyard. The painstakingly difficult farming conditions pays dividends in the glass - intensely flavored with a structure to relish, this Malbec is incredibly captivating. This red wine boast aromas of dark raspberry that mingle with huckleberry and hints of espresso bean on the palate to create a lush middle body and juicy finish.

Paratus. It is the Latin word for prepared. We hand-selected and carefully prepared an extraordinary lot from the 2010 Paratus harvest to create this singular wine. Every aspect of the winemaking process was designed to deliver excellence, from vineyard to bottle. One section of the Paratus Vineyards stood out as bearing something exceptional that year and we took advantage by fermenting and barrel-aging those grapes separately. One barrel was set aside as our first Paratus Reserve. The wait has been worth it. The pure essence of Paratus Vineyards runs through this wine – deep, dark-fruited flavors, big tannins in perfect balance with oak and fruit, minerality reflective of the terroir of this mountainside site, dry-farmed to extract the most from its environment. You can taste the vineyard in this wine. And because we waited until the last possible moment to harvest these grapes, the result is a ripeness and flavor that coats the tongue and sings in perfect unison with the tastebuds. What is missing from the 2010 Paratus Reserve…absolutely nothing. Aged two years in new Taransaud oak barrel, two years in bottle.

Above the fog line at 1,500 feet, this is an incredibly beautiful, yet stressed vineyard that produces trademark Mt Veeder characteristics. It starts with aromas of rich dark plums, dried herbs, grilled game and tea with forest floor undertones. Concentrated flavors of dried black cherries and wild blackberries are coupled with hints of clove and blackstrap molasses that lead into an opulent mouthfeel with chewy, lingering tannins.

Mt.-Brave-Mt.-Veeder-Cabernet-Sauvignon
Grown under the shadow of Mt. Veeder's 2400' peak, Mt. Brave's Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful example of high-elevation winemaking. This red wine has an incredible density of fruit, profound tannin structure, and a wonderful finish. Winemaker Chris Carpenter is a master of managing mountain tannins and producing wines that are approachable in their youth and spectacular with a bit of cellaring. This red wine showcases aromas of seamless black and blue fruits, with secondary notes of dark chocolate and licorice. Power and opulence in harmony with a finessed texture for a long, balanced finish.

The 19 Block has aromas of cedar and black licorice. A rich entry of black cherry and ripe plum is supported in the mid-palate by oak nuances of vanilla, caramel and graham cracker. A long, silky finish of polished tannins suggest immediate approachability but the wine will continue to improve over the next 3-4 years.

Like a satellite dish perfectly aligned to capture radio waves, the Veeder Peak Vineyard sits above the fog line in a small geologic scallop of the Mount Veeder appellation—perfectly aligned to capture the first rays of sun that peek out from the eastern side of the valley. This high-energy boost is like an early morning cup of coffee to the vines, jolting them awake to create the incredible flavors that define Mount Veeder.

The aromatics are dominated by black fleshy stone fruit. Mineral notes, crushed bricks, smoked paprika, raw steak, blond tobacco and cocoa powder aromas are also present. Very attractive and pleasant note, and very nicely layered. Blue and black fruits, especially blackberry, define the palate, mixed with graphite, white pepper, and light black olive flavors. The finish is really long, expressing notes of tar, herbs, and a little black licorice.
Brandlin The Bootleg Cabernet Sauvignon

Brandlin-The-Bootleg-Cabernet-Sauvignon
In 2010 The Bootleg mines the best part of our Brandlin Vineyard, a southwest facing block of Cabernet Sauvignon, just over two acres that year over year stands above the rest of the vineyard. To this we blend a small amount of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, the quantities which vary depending on the tenor of the vintage. In 2010, a generally cooler year on Mount Veeder The Bootleg is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13 % Malbec , 11% Petit Verdot and just 1% Cabernet Franc. The Malbec is the earliest ripener and brings all the pretty, hi-toned floral fruit to the blend, really lifting the aromas in the glass. The Petit Verdot is an inky, deep, blue-black wine with dark flavors and a kind of deep bass tone that really anchors the tannins in the blend. The Cab Franc is the mystery spice with, brushy, lavender, herbal notes that adds a little extra intrigue. Naturally, Cabernet Sauvignon is the star and dials up that wonderful mix of black currant, black cherry and blackberry fruit with shades of mocha, toffee and black tea.
