Hailing from the hillside vineyards of Asti, Italy where the climate is ideal for fragrant and delicious Moscato grapes – this is one of the few wines that actually tastes like the grapes do in the vineyard. Once delivered, the grape clusters are gently pressed and the juice is clarified immediately to maintain the complex aromas. The wine is then cool fermented in stainless steel tanks to draw out its full flavor and expressive character. Cupcake Vineyards' Moscato d’Asti is a vibrant wine crafted with fine effervescence that tickles the palate, making any occasion worthy of a toast. Ruffino wine is made with high quality fruit sourced from vineyards in the Asti DOCG region in southern Piedmont. The grapes are selected from vineyards on the Vietti estate located in Castiglione Tinella. The vineyards are planted with 4.500 plants per hectare, which are almost 40 years old with yields of 65 hl/ha. Only the best Moscato grapes with extended maturation are used for the Cascinetta. The grapes are crushed, pressed and naturally clarified. Must is stored, without sulfite, at low temperature in order to naturally prevent fermentation. Before the bottling we add yeast and temperature is increased to 12°-14° C (53-57°F).

A sweet white wine, the dessert wine par excellence. Straw-yellow, the Moscato d'Asti has an intensely fruity, aromatic and very persistent nose. Its sweet flavors are perfectly balanced with its low alcoholic content and acidity, which is never very high, but provides the wine with an inviting freshness. Made with 100% Moscato.

Our Vigna Vecchia Moscato d’Asti wine comes from three plots of land situated in the Valdivilla hills. They are combined to create a one-hectare vineyard, planted with an old clone of the white Canelli Moscato, which is now 60 years old. Thanks to the perfect and completely south-facing exposure, in which the term Sorì has its most eloquent expression, all the vineyard rows ripen regularly with uniformly golden clusterss of grapes. The earth is light and whitish and the higher percentage of limestone which makes it ideal for giving structure and body, while the temperate climate, with cold winters and rainy autumns alternating with hot but dry summers give this Moscato the necessary freshness and mineral content. In 2003, we decided to lengthen the resting and maturing time in bottles of part of the production, before selling it. Since then 1,300 bottles are kept each year and only placed on the market in September of the fifth year after the harvest. It is a real reserve within a reserve, therefore, a rarity that we are proud to present with in new packaging, with very elegant, customized wooden boxes. With the harvest 1998 MOSCATO D’ASTI VECCHIA VIGNA that met along its way the “painter of wine” DIDIER MICHEL, who has tasted it and described in one of his paintings, which later became its label
