Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet is the geographical middleman of the white wine villages, bordered by Meursault to the north and by Chassagne-Montrachet to the south. Located just next to the vineyard "Les Truffières", almost at the top of the hill, the vines "Les Chalumaux" grow high up on limestone and marl soil with an ideal south-easterly exposure, catching as much sunlight as the day-time permits. These vineyards have belonged to the Chalumeau family or be exploited by it, hence its name.

Distinctive, concentrated fresh fruit and vanilla aromas carry on to the palate and culminate in a persistent, lingering finish. Puligny produces wines with greater firmness and depth than those of Meursault, and greater refinement and delicacy than those of Chassagne.

Fine leesy texture, soft apple fruit. Ever so slightly dilute on the finish, compared with their Maltroie. Bright, zingy finish.

On the nose, refined aromas of hawthorn, fresh almond and apricot, evolving towards candied fruit, hazelnut and grilled dried fruit. On the palate, a beautiful structure harmonizing nicely with fresh and velvety sensations. Long aftertaste, especially in the flavours".

Domaine Blain-Gagnard is well-known as an excellent source for Chassagne-Montrachet rouge. Old vines (with some plantings dating back to 1932) give depth and concentration while aging in old barrels allows the appellation to speak clearly. This is classic Chassagne-Montrachet rouge with earthy “sauvage” flavors and a dark fruit profile.

Reduction flattens the fruit but there is good freshness to lush and unctuous flavors that remain quite vibrant despite the full-on richness. There is better depth here and even a mild touch of austerity on the lingering and balanced finish. Note that thanks to the abundance of dry extract that this should be approachable and enjoyable very early on

Made from Chardonnay grapes; vine age – planted 1950; grown on soils of Limestone & iron. Fermented in stainless steel tanks. Aged in 100% new oak casks. Aged for 18-20 months. Bottled unfiltered. Wine for laying down, but can be appreciated when young after carafing for several hours before serving.

Based on aggregated critic scores this is one of the top 10 Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain wines: Wine Spectator gave the 2008 vintage a score of 92. This is the third most sought-after wine from the region (in terms of user searches). This wine has been climbing in popularity during the year. Priced above average for white wine from Puligny-Montrachet Champ Gain. The price has been rising over the past two years.

the vineyards of Pouilly and Fuissé (two separate villages) cover the slopes of Solutré and Vergisson, two well-known cliffs serving as backdrop to this magnificent landscape. Soil: clay and limestone from the Jurassic age.

A highly expressive, pure and airy nose features notes of mineral reduction, pear, green apple and acacia blossom. There is a really lovely vibrancy to the racy, intense and equally mineral-driven flavors that possess excellent volume but also excellent cut on the mouth coating, dry, linear and explosive finish. In a word, terrific. Sweet spot, outstanding!
