Wine in Meursault

A brilliant light yellow color. The very pleasant expressive and complex nose opens up with floral and slightly woody notes. The attack is bold and precise, then on the palate, this wine is full and harmonious. It has a certain vivaciousness, which gives it good length on the palate and very long-lasting aromas. The hamlet of Blagny is located high on the hillside above Puligny-Montrachet and Meursault and represents an entirely unique terroir. This 1er Cru vineyard is located directly adjacent to the 1er Cru “La Pièce Sous le Bois” and overlooks the vineyards of Perrières and Champ Canet in Puligny-Montrachet. Maison Louis Jadot Meursault have a fragrant, ripe, full fruited bouquet which is confirmed on the palate, a generous, supple texture and the distinctive hazelnut and spice nuances which carry into a persistent finish of great finesse. Meursault is rich enough to match foods like fish in a cream sauce, shellfish, poultry with cream and white meat.

Bright yellow. Aromas of ripe peach and dusty brown spices. Ripe flavors of peach and soft citrus fruits are complicated by toasty oak and nuts. Juicy and nicely balanced but tails off a bit on the slightly spiky finish.

Our winemaking is practical and is based on Burgundy practices and tradition. That is to say that there are no great wines without great grapes; thus our focus is on the vineyard and the work necessary to harvest the ripest grapes possible. Each growing season is different and we respect what nature gives; we harvest when the grapes are ready (not when it is convenient for us) and use the grapes indigenous yeasts.We understand that wine is as much a living product and is the vine.

Grapes are hand harvested, strictly sorted and destemmed. The must will sit on the skins for 12 hours to fermentation. The wine ages for 19 months of in oak barrels deep in the cellars of Domaine Jacques Prieur.

Top notch Meursault from one of the best communes within this most illustrious of Burgundian appellations. It is already starting to drink well but it will improve over the next 4 or so years. Lovely rich, buttery and slightly nutty flavours. This is a very serious white wine and all you’d expect from this excellent appellation.

The name Remoissenet for serious collectors stands for refined, classic Burgundy wines. A leading light in Beaune for generations, the estate today—with new management and fresh talent in the cellar—is now more than ever the definitive source for the best Burgundy has to offer. On the nose, there are aromas of apples, citrus, light honey, fresh nuts. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh, savory; flavors of lemons, red apple, white peach.

This Meursault is pale yellow in color with green highlights and a subtle and fresh nose of citrus fruits and vanilla, with some oak adding a certain complexity. It is still quite tight on the back-palate.

Manual harvesting into crates; following pneumatic pressing, our juices are cooled and sediment removed within 24 hours. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, maximum 30% new barrels. Ageing 12 months in barrels, then 4 to 6 months maturing in stainless steel vats. Bottled at the estate. A rich, fruity, powerful flavour is sustained by spicy, mineral notes; such is the expression of the Meursault wines that originate in the Blagny terroirs. A spicy finish unique to this terroir.

Tasting Notes: Green gold in colour. Limpid and brilliant. This wine is redolent of toasted almonds and hazelnuts in a floral and mineral setting. Butter, honey and citrus fruits are also present. Rich and fat with a cheerful and appealing taste of hazelnut. Serving temperature : serve at a temperature of 11-14°C Food: With joints of veal or poultry in white sauce. Still better are grilled lobster, crawfish, or king prawns in sauce. Blue cheeses and goose liver are a great match too.

A wine with a fine aromatic intensity of almond, hazelnut, apple and a balance between smoothness and freshness on the palate. The abundance of white marl in the soils give this wine its firm structure and aromatics. Meursault is the biggest village of la Côte de Beaune which produces mainly white wines. According to the location of plots, the soil is rich and deep (at the bottom of the hilside) or limestone and marly in the "mountain". Our cuvée comes from a blending of about sixteen different but complementary plots in order to obtain rich and elegant wines. About the Winery: Olivier Leflaive was born into one of the most legendary Burgundian estates which he co-managed before starting his own venture, which is now legendary itself, Olivier Leflaive in 1985. This project allowed him to play with more wines outside of what his family owned in Puligny-Montrachet. Working with his winemaker, Franck Grux, they always focused on quality and transparency. The wines are hallmarks of elegance and purity rather than muscle and are more than worthy of the famous Leflaive name.
