If the "hand tended" blocks from Perli Vineyards were located at a ski resort, they would be considered double black diamond. With grades approaching 60% and soils that are more rock than soil, these steep coastal mountain sites are some of the most radical in all of California. First planted in the late 1800's by Santo and Rosie Perli, these southwest-facing, high altitude (2,200 feet) vineyards are a mere 10 miles from the Pacific Ocean. Luscious and full-bodied, this wine is rich with flavors of ripe blackberry and cherry fruit, covered in dark chocolate, and dusted with baking spices.

With cold fermentation, tropical aromas are elevated witha hint of lemon. This wine greets you with a fruit forward, crisp entry with a full balanced mouth feel in te middle, finishing with citrus flavors and a touch of acid.

60% Sangiovese, 20% Grenache, 20% Zinfandel Vintage: 2017 All produced in smaller lots and aged in neutral barrels. Grenache aged for 12 months, Sangiovese and Zinfandel aged for 9 months. This time in the barrel allows the wine to soften so that when we put it into a can it’s ready to drink. Silky, medium-bodied, bing cherry, strawberry, sandalwood, licorice, tomato leaf, cranberry, plum.

This White Riesling has aromas of white flowers, apple, pear, peach, honey and clove with an underlying minerality and classic Riesling spice. Mouthfeel: In the mouth the wine is a balance of crisp acidity and subtle sweetness with a long rich finish.

Steele is very happy to present the 2014 Rosé of Cabernet Franc for your enjoyment. With colors of a warm sunset, an aroma redolent of freshly picked strawberries and a hint of ocean breeze, this lively glass of vino is a hard one to put down. Produced with the Saingnee method, the juice for this wine is cold-soaked on the skins until the desired color is reached. We then siphon the goods off of the main tank and innoculate for fermentation. Jed Has made Rosé from many different varietals over the years, but he has found that (and we agree) Cab Franc truly is an outstanding grape to craft a quality Rosé.
