Expressive fruit aromas and wood perfumes announce this wine. With 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a complex wine marked by purity of black fruits, berries, toast and tannins. It has power, richness and a lovely edge of spice to go with the acidity. The wine is firmly structured, while bursting with fruit and freshness.

Louis-de-Melac-Bordeaux-Medoc
Wonderful aromas of blueberries, currants and flowers follow through to a full body, with ultra fine tannins and a gorgeous finish. Best Potensac in years. Even better than the 2009. 93 points, James Suckling (Feb 2013). Solid, if a bit chunky, with cocoa and ganache coating a core of black currant and blackberry fruit that hangs through the muscular finish, where a warm paving stone note rings out. A touch austere, but the stuffing is there for cellaring.

This wine made from old vines has a brilliant ruby color. The nose is marked by flavor of small ripe red fruits, spices, and of vanilla. A harmonious and smooth wine, with a good intensity, very pleasant on the palate. Enjoy over the next 5 years with all your meals or by itself.

This has muscle, offset by sleek acidity, which lets the steeped blackberry and black currant fruit race along nicely, while the smoldering tobacco and roasted fig notes hang in the background. Solid, with iron-tinged grip on the finish. Best from 2013 through 2023.

Wine Advocate-5th Growth, Pauillac, Bordeaux, France - "The color is a healthy purple, and the wine offers plenty of cassis and licorice as well as a touch of incense. The oak from barrel-aging 18 months is largely obscured. Medium to full-bodied and impressively endowed..." (Concentrated, Cassis, Licorice, Medium-bodied)

Int'l Wine Cellar-Bordeaux, France - "Redcurrant, mocha and cedary, smoky oak on the ripe nose, with a hint of peppery lift. Lush, ripe and concentrated, offering a dense, thick texture and a hint of salty herbs. Nicely subtle and perfumed in the mouth. Finishes with suave tannins and sneaky length." (Concentrated, Raspberry, Fruity, Medium-bodied)
