With a beautiful carmine red color, this Languedoc reveals notes of red fruits and then, spicy and peppery shades. It’s a Mediterranean wine but still fresh and thirst-quenching. This lovely wine expresses the ripe Syrah from the Languedoc’s cooler foothills blended with the soft and delicious Grenache from the Roussillon. Extensive work with their growers and constant tastings help create this wonderful blend to express the jigsaw of terroirs in the South of France.
The wine is now produced completely with certified organic grapes from Ecocert and then matured in concrete tanks to preserve the fresh, fruity aromas and flavors on the palate.
From the Winemaker:
“In Southern France, bordering the Mediterranean Sea, extends the most ancient and the largest vineyard of our country: the Languedoc-Roussillon.
As our vine-growers take benefit from favorably climatic conditions and remarkable sunshine weather, they have been following for quite a long time the principle of an environmentally friendly viticulture. This is how our region has become a pioneer in developing cautious agriculture and organic viticulture. It offers a vast variety of terroirs that we suggest you discover in this fruit driven wine"
About the Brand:
Formed in 2002, Hecht et Bannier produces wines that are reference points for the Roussillon, Languedoc and Provence. Founders Gregory Hecht and François Bannier note: “To conserve the typical Mediterranean strength in our wines while preserving balance and crispness, this is our mantra for all the appellations we produce.” This cutting-edge firm is one of the south’s most exciting projects in recent memory and promises to be a formidable player with dramatic impact in the region.
Critical Acclaim:
2017: Wine Spectator Best Value
Best Value "Ripe raspberry and currant notes are backed by fresh acidity that highlights the licorice, floral and mineral details. Moderate, integrated tannins structure the tangy finish. Drink now through 2022."
