Wine in Languedoc

Côte des Roses celebrates the Mediterranean lifestyle. The Languedoc appellation stretches along the Mediterranean coast from the Spanish border as far as the city of Nîmes, along the foothills of the Montagne Noire and the Cévennes. The soils are highly varied, mainly with hard limestone and schist, but also gravel transported by the rivers of the Languedoc region. The warm, windy climate (“semi-arid Mediterranean climate with mild winters”) helps the grapes to ripen in good, healthy condition, while retaining all their fresher qualities thanks to the altitude and the influence of the sea which eases the scorching summer heat. The bottle is original with its base in the shape of a rose, created by a young designer from the Ecole Boulle. A wine to be given in the same way you would offer a bunch of roses!

Tasting Notes: An accessible wine with loads of character, “Les Darons” is packed with ripe, red and dark fruit aromas, with plenty of spice and a streak of underlying minerality. Serve With: Enjoy this classic, unoaked red with a wide range of everyday meals.

A Blanc-de-Blancs sparkling wine made in a Champagne fashion at a fraction of the cost. Produced in the traditional method, the palate is round (not sharp) with a crowd pleasing palate. Mediumbodied with tiny bubbles, notes of Brioche, ripe citrus & tropical fruits, ending in a delicate finish. Enjoy on it's own, or pair with seafood or Asian cuisine.

“La Chevalière,” or “the knight’s lady,” is a reference to “Mas La Chevalière,” literally the “farmhouse of the knight’s lady,” the Laroche winery in southern France that was created by Michel Laroche. Surrounded by a wall, just like the “clos” enclosures in Burgundy, Mas LaChevalière is a place of history and character where the “jardins à la française” offer a Mediterranean accent. More than a place, France is a way of life— intriguing, nuanced, never hurried and always well-conceived. It’s what inspires me to create our Mode de Vie wines. This 2015 white blend has nice, bright yellow colour, aromatic nose of exotic fruits and white blossoms. In the mouth, the initial sensation is fresh and mineral. Pineapple and mango complete the balance, roundness and fullness. This wine pairs as easily with a fish sandwich and slaw as it does with grilled sea bass and pommes de terre. When she launched it in 1991, Estelle Dauré was looking for a name that was easy to remember, evoking its "lightness". During a family reunion, the Jaja de Jau stood out. The creation of the label was entrusted to the artist Ben, friend of Sabine Dauré, who had exhibited in the contemporary art space of the Château de Jau. Since then, the concept has been applied to sommelier aprons worn by the service staff at the Château de Jau grill, on coolers and other wine-related accessories.

Elegant Cabernet with blackcurrant and strawberry aromas, hints of spices, cinnamon, mint and honey, and a fresh vegetal note typical of this grape variety. The finish is velvety with hints of cedar and oak.
