The Canoe Ridge Estate Chardonnay is refined and elegant and offers apple and citrus aromas with a clean, refreshing finish. We age the wine in lighter French oak barrels to maintain the fresh, elegant style of this Chardonnay.

Sourced from the hilly terrain of Washington, our Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon is dark ruby in color and spice driven in aroma with notes of cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. A soft entry onto the palate leads to rich black cherry, black currant and dark chocolate flavors. WINEMAKER NOTES A vintage considered to be the longest in Washington history, the 2016 growing season granted a record-breaking grape harvest. This extended season allowed grapes to ripen slowly, preserving the freshness and elegance in our finished Horse Heaven Hills Cabernet Sauvignon. After the grapes were harvested, sorted and fermented, the wine was then aged in a mixture of 20% new French, 20% new American and 60% neutral oak for 18 months. FOOD PAIRINGS This sultry Cabernet Sauvignon pairs nicely with rosemary braised lamb shanks, filet mignon with a rich balsamic glaze or gnocchi with a creamy garlic and gorgonzola sauce. The property is planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon, but Double Canyon Vineyard also features two blocks of Petit Verdot, which total just over four acres. Dark, inky and unctuous, our Petit Verdot exudes a pronounced brambly character and notes of cassis, black cherries, earthy seasoned wood and fragrant baking spices. The palate has flesh and weight with bold, persistent flavors.

The addition of Syrah lends a full and rich texture on the mid-palate, further accented by bright acidity from the Petit Verdot, sweet red fruit from the Merlot and luscious raspberry notes supplied by the Malbec. The soft and supple mouthfeel is supported by sweet oak tannins and fresh fruit character, finishing with a juicy acidity that is characteristic of Horse Heaven Hills.

Our Syrah amplifies the dimension of our Cabernets, yet possesses such character that we felt it deserved to be showcased as a stand-alone wine. Hailing from our estate Double Canyon Vineyard, the wine shows a deep ruby color in the glass and expresses aromas of rich caramel, cedar and hints of rose petal. The entry possesses good structure with generous amounts of black and red fruits, accented by vanilla crème, root beer, black tea and spice, leading into a long, juicy finish with lingering notes of mouthwatering red plum.
