"Two" the symbol of perfect balance is the number that best sums up this parcel. La Justice is two hectares located at the bottom of the village with two distinct terroirs. The alluvial "les graviers" gives very concentrated grapes of confirmed maturity, whereas the higher part yields a lighter style wine. The stronger characteristics of La Justice make this a wine to lay down.

Gevrey-Chambertin is beautifully deep-colored and possesses intense aromatic bouquet reminiscent of blackcurrant and other red and black berries. The wine is renowned for its power which is always in harmony with a certain dose of smooth tannins.

Vinous-France - "Bright red-ruby. Licorice pastille, black cherry and violet on the nose. Very sweet, fat and powerful, but a little chunky following the examples from Chambolle-Musigny, and less complex." (BARREL SCORE 89-92)

Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées is a lieu-dit lying below the D974 directly below the grand cru of Charmes-Chambertin. Seuvrées comes from the Latin “separatas” and was named because the plot is separated by the borders of Gevrey and Morey. It is from clay-limestone soils with round stones of varying sizes. Les Seuvrées delivers classic Gevrey-Chambertin flavors of black fruit, licorice, violets, and spices with an underlying earthiness. Fifty-year-old vines bring unexpected richness and depth to this village-level bottling. The wine is a pure expression of its terroir thanks to its élevage in a combination of used oak and clay jars. Red Burgundy might be the world’s most flexible food wine. The wine’s high acidity, medium body, medium alcohol, and low tannins make it very food-friendly. Red Burgundy, with its earthy and sometimes gamey character, is a classic partner to roasted game birds, grilled duck breast, and dishes that feature mushrooms, black truffles, or are rich in umami.
