Mercurey is the largest wine-producing area in the Côte Chalonnaise. The vineyard of Clos la Marche is located on the Domaine la Marche, in the center of the village, facing south/east. The composition of the soil is very similar to the Côte de Beaune: mix of clay, limestone and marl. The vines are from 15 to 80 years old. This famous vineyard is a monopole of Louis Max. Bright ruby red in colour. Intense note of red fruits (raspberry, cherry) and hints of spice, autumn leaves and liquorice. Full bodied with a generous taste, round tannins and fine terroir aromas. The finish is long and harmonious.

Clos Rochette is a 11-acre monopole of Domaine Faiveley located in the heart of the Mercurey appellation, in the Côte Chalonnaise just south of the Côte d’Or of Burgundy. This is an extremely rocky vineyard with soils of clay, limestone, and gravel. Vines date back to 1960, adding to the wine’s depth and concentration. This wine reveals exceptionally complex aromas and a fresh nose offering white flowers and spices. The lively attack gives way to a smooth, oily palate thanks to its oak aging. The flavors and aromas combine harmoniously resulting in a beautifully elegant wine.
