Banzai-Bunny-Blueberry-Sparkling-Sake
Skilled artisanal brewmasters called tōji handcraft the finest sakamai rice into a new style of sparkling beverage. It is infused with blueberries and naturally carbonated by yeast in the bottle “méthode japanoise”. Banzai Bunny Blueberry is elegantly sweet with the vibrant aroma and rich flavor of the fresh blueberries harvested near the brewery. Versatile pairings include fresh green salads, shellfish, spicy Asian fare, and even fried chicken. Light and crisp, fruity, effervescent and mildly sweet, Banzai Bunny sparkling sake comes in Natural, Blueberry, White Peach and Yuzu (an Asian citrus fruit). This low-alcohol (7%), lighter style sake, dubbed Japanese Champagne or “Japagne” is great for apéritifs, mixing with cocktails or serving with spicy Asian dishes. Banzai Bunny Sparkling Sakes are produced by the Ume No Yado brewery, founded in 1893 and located at the foot of Mount Katsuragiin Nara, often thought to be the birthplace of Sake. The phrase “ume no yado” means “plum house” and refers to an ancient plum tree located on the grounds of the brewery.

A deep and rich aroma is filled with hints of lemons and candy. This Sparkling sake is a refreshing dance of small bubbles with a gentle sweetness. There are lots of subtle flavors such as steamed rice, hay, citrus and absolutely no aftertaste. Extremely well balanced for an "odd" sake. Great for those who want that new sake experience with a lower alcohol content 7.5%. WORD: Effervescent WINE: Sparkling wines BEER: Hefferweizen FOODS: Champagne fare.
