The Badenhorst Rose is a blend of Grenache, Shiraz and Cinsault from old vines planted back in the 1950ties on granite soils. The grapes were gently whole bunch pressed which preserves freshness and delicacy. The Shiraz has been with skin contact for 4 hours which adds a beautiful dark pink colour. This is an absolute perfect Match for richer white meat dishes and your upcoming BBQ's and Sunday Lunches. With the taste of ripe red berries, rose water and gentle spice you not just going to wow your own palate, but also those of your guests.
Blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Viognier from famed winemaker, Adi Badenhorst. No oak used so the bright fruit comes through on the aromas and palate. A great party wine - crowd pleasing.
This is a fascinating wine. Made by the irrepressible Adi Badenhorst in the Swartland from a mind-blowing ten varieties, it already has five years of age and is showing beautifuly now. The lemon-gold colour initially suggests that this is not a shy retiring wallflower of a wine. The nose is reminiscent of toasted hazelnuts with notes of ripe lemon coming through and the palate... Where to begin with the palate? It is full of weight and interest.
Grenache – Syrah – Mourvedre blend – commonly known by the acronym GSM – are the particular specialty of the southern Rhone Valley in France. GSM wines, which have been readily adopted by the New World, are rich, full bodied and leathery, and are characterized by flavors of dark fruit and spice. Grenache, which contributes spice, red fruit and alcohol to the blend, where as Mourvedre, gives tannins, color and length to the wine and Syrah gives its structure and dark fruit. Only part of the blend is aged in oak so the bright red fruit comes through but it is not jammy. A definite 'every day' kind of wine.
