Mammoth Gin is created through the precise blending of six distinct flavor fractions: juniper, sage, lemon peel, orange peel, white pine and lavender. These fractions are each crafted individually by macerating and distilling the featured botanical in our own Mammoth vodka. Many of these botanicals are locally harvested, including white pine from the trees on our property, to ensure that Mammoth Gin maintains its Northern Michigan character.

Our signature vodka, distilled in copper pots is clear and has mild aromas of banana-coconut pudding and pastry aromas with a silky medium to full body and a creamy, peppery spice and talc finish. It is derived from a proprietary blend of three grains: corn, wheat and barley. We are one of the few distilleries in the world to craft vodka from a blend of grains. Valentine Vodka has been recognized by Anthony Dias Blue, editor-in-chief of The Tasting Panel magazine as one of the top vodkas in the world with a 94-point ranking – placing higher than noted international brands like Belvedere, Ketel One, Grey Goose and Absolut. Mammoth Woolly Bourbon is an over-proofed malt-forward whiskey with a clean, mildly sweet finish. We use double the malt content of conventional bourbons, including a caramel malt to maximize complexity and mouth feel.

Our white blossom vodka starts with our award winning vodka and is then infused with elderflower and grapefruit. It is sweetened with all natural beet sugar from Michigan grown beets. We honor the enduring spirit of 'Old Ping' with a bourbon for the people. Hazen S. Pingree, mayor of Detroit (1890-1897), is considered one of the greatest mayors in US history. He was a champion for the Detroiter, fighting monopolies and corruption.

Our Not a King Whiskey is a nod back to George Washington’s original rye whiskey recipe. Rye takes center stage with corn serving as the secondary grain in the mash bill. Here at the Traverse City Whiskey Co., we've worked hard to reconstruct the recipe that's been lingering in one of our family heirlooms for three generations. In February 2015 we finished construction on our 2,400 sq. ft. distillery and tasting room located in downtown Traverse City (201 E Fourteenth Street - photos coming soon) where we will start producing the best whiskey available using our family's formula and the techniques derived directly from my great-grandfather's patents. To jump-start the production process, we partnered with a master distiller here in the Midwest who worked with us to construct our current taste profile. Behind the scenes we've been breaking ground on our family farm and have begun planting the necessary corn, barley and rye to properly reconstruct this whiskey masterpiece. Our new American oak barrels are aged on-site until they've matured for at least four years, at which point we hand bottle and label every batch individually. 28 Island Vodka is carefully crafted from a blend of 70% corn and 30% organic winter wheat and distilled with the finest American-made copper pot still. The result is a remarkably smooth, balanced spirit with a hint of sweetness that makes an excellent addition to both classic and modern cocktails. The name references the 28 islands of the Detroit River that served as safe haven for Detroit’s clandestine distillers of the prohibition era.

We start with a classic bourbon mash bill of corn, rye and barley. We then double distill in our 650 liter Christian Carl still. Woodward Ltd. Whiskey is then aged for a minimum of four years in maple-infused, American oak casks. Woodward Ltd. Ends up with sweet notes of caramel, brown sugar, molasses and maple syrup that complement its spicy notes of rye, cinnamon and woody spices. Woodward Ltd. Whiskey earned a Silver Medal from the International Craft Spirit Awards. Woodward Ltd. is a distinct spirit that embodies what a good bourbon whiskey should be.

Because of our belief in the importance of local agriculture and the fact that sugar cane isn't readily available in Michigan, we decided to take our Rum project to the Caribbean, and the "Land of Wood and Water". We import several different Jamaican rums and ship them back to our distillery in Detroit where they are artfully blended and aged in special Moscatel barrique. The result is a high esther flavor bomb of incredible complexity and length. The doctor is most definitely IN!
