Kōloa Coffee Rum is made from the mash of raw Cane Sugar, distilled in an impressive vintage 1210 gallon steam powered copper pot still and cut with filtered water from the ancient Mount Waialeale. This intensely rich coffee flavored rum is slightly lower in ABV. which facilitates the amazingly complex flavors achieved. The initial sip is a highly robust espresso coffee balanced with white cane sugar. The spirit initially presents itself as a well-crafted espresso cocktail and then it’s back to a dry finish of light vanilla, hints of chocolate and that wonderful coffee flavor that can only be achieved by a great barista. Second and third sips of this elixir present hints of tropical fruit in the finish along with hazelnut and stone fruits.

Kula Dark Rum was distilled and blended with the classic Hawaiian Mai Tai in mind. It is 95 proof to help it float perfectly on top, but brings some serious flavor to the cocktail. The color is dark and rich, so is the flavor. On the nose it brings all the aroma of the best aged rums. It suggests molasses, oak and hints of dark caramel. Although we suggest using it on your best Mai Tai, KULA Dark is not a one-dimensional ingredient for cocktails. It can be sipped neat or over ice, surprisingly smooth and pleasantly approachable even at its higher proof.
