Made from domestic molasses and citing some extraordinary NYC history, Owney's White Vanilla Rum is a dynamic new edition to the craft spirits scene. Bridget Firtle has cashed in everything in order to pursue her dream of making craft spirits the right way. Her white rum is full of gorgeous pure cane, molasses, and vanilla elements with some well-balanced esters and minerals. For now her distillery space in East Williamsburg is a one-woman show and we absolutely cannot wait to see the incredible developments sure to take place there over the coming years.
Established in 2011 by Bridget C. Firtle, The Noble Experiment NYC produces all natural, premium quality spirits distilled from locally grown and harvested ingredients. Their first release, Owney's Original, is a white rum handcrafted in Brooklyn from molasses derived from domestic sugar cane. Owney’s Vanilla Bean Rum is made by infusing Owney’s Rum with vanilla beans sourced from Madagascar. The rum was infused for two to three weeks without the addition of sugar before being bottled by hand. Only 400 bottles of this Limited Edition rum have ever been made. The medium-bodied palate is smooth, dry with notes of creamy vanilla, whipped cream and coconuts that lead to hints of white pepper, chocolate and buttered bread.
