Samuel Smith's brews in traditional coppers, uses stone 'Yorkshire Squares' for fermentation, and ships every bottle from the brewery with great pride.

Bass Pale Ale is a classic English-style pale ale. Beautiful chestnut coloring with aromas or nuts, caramel, dried fruits and raisins. The taste is slightly sweet and a trace drying, with a nice balanced English hop finish.

Originally a drink for lactating mothers, oatmeal stout was described as nutritional on early labels. Oats are in the same family as barley, and a small addition yields great flavor. Popular in the late 1800’s, the last oatmeal stout was brewed before the First World War until Samuel Smith reintroduced this style in 1980. Almost opaque, with an unusually silky texture and complex, medium-dry velvet palate. Bittersweet finish.

Lightly kilned organic lager malt grown in the UK is the main ingredient, with a substantial addition of organic UK Vienna malt. Originally released a for the Chesterfield CAMRA festival. Renamed as Wild Raven in 2013 due to another beer going by the name "Raven" elsewhere The recipe for the brew came from James Kemp, who joined the team a few months ago. Previously crowned the New Zealand Home Brewing Champion in 2008 and winner of a Liberty Award, Kemp used Maris Otter, Black Patent and Chocolate malt along with Nelson Sauvin, Centennial and Sorachi hops. The beer, called Raven, has bitterness and hop character and plenty of malt flavours to give it complexity. James moved on to Buxton brewery and is now a freelance brewer

Long Leg is a traditional, full flavoured, golden ale exclusively brewed using Fuggle hops, both in the copper and as a late addition to give a distinctive, late copper hop flavour. The name honours the tradition of hop picking on stilts in order to harvest the tall crop.

Keg; Brewed in true continental style, we use 100% malt in the mash and add in Target hops followed by a late addition of Styrian Goldings to add that really noble hop aroma. We ferment the beer cool with lager yeast for seven days, and what makes this beer really special is a two week cold conditioning stage with Australian Galaxy and Ella hops which brings out all that depth of flavour and dry hop character

This brilliant and bold addition to our flock was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of one of our finest comedic exports - the Monty Python crew!Years later and Holy Grail is still going strong. With more hops than a killer rabbit, it's a full-flavoured golden ale with a distinctively fruity flavour followed by the Black Sheep signature dry finish. Be warned, this beer has been tempered over burning witches! Only joking.
